Obstruction Part 1

As half the empire forces slowly retreat. The empire general then ordered a signal of a Blue flag to his rider. After 2 minutes of trotting around and raising the Blue flag. Then suddenly 3 cavaliers with their swords raised and aimed at the man who was using gallant force. The uniforms that they wore were different from Knights and conscripts.

``For me, it looks like they are from the Divine Academy of the Empire mhm…`` Meanwhile, the knight who used the Gallant force suddenly yelled "RAHHH!" with that yell then followed an immense boost for his Gallant force. Soon the 3 cavaliers also imbued their weapons with their own Gallant force to handle the fight.

As they trot their horses towards the muscular man, that earlier was just a knight with armour. Because of the immense surge of gallant force through his body. His armour has flown away from him and also his body has gained muscles and even aura. As the muscular man aura was a mix of orange.

While all of this is happening on the battlefield there are some conscripts who were able to return fire with their guns. Then as it continues it becomes fierce and intense as both sides have been able to take damage. On the other hand, Artirian was still continuing on his observation about what his perception of the battle that is currently taking place. He also added to his journal that the balance of warfare will always come with the strategy of the one who is on top and that is the General. 

As every moment that something happens or something different occurs, Artirian has taken account of that in his journal as it also became his guide through the years that will come. In a single battle, Artirian has written a lot in his journal. He also wrote there the blunders and failures and a better way to attack the enemy.

Artirian POV

Even though with tactics and strategy combined, there is still the factor of Gallant power being used on the battlefield that can still change the course of the battle. A simple strong user of Gallant power can boost an army of thousand men to a whole hundred thousand men. But if the user is not able to hold for long it also changes. Simply put a balance to warfare to being made soon enough.

'The effectiveness of battle comes from great minds, and those are the tactician or also known as a strategist. But few disregard this role and rather focus on power and full-on offence.

This kind of tactic isn't balanced and rather goes to defeat moreover a wipeout of a force and also the ultimate sacrifice is death. That kind of mistake a General would do is an utter disgrace as an officer.

The 3 cavaliers and the Muscular man would clash their swords even from a far distance. The other conscripts and officials can hear the 'cling and clangs' of the swords that also spark lights of the flame because of how hard both teams swing their swords. It can also be seen even in the far distance. While the power of waves would go for meters. But as Artirian observes much more closely the Coalition is making a movie from the south.

As they slowly began to move forward near the border of the forest as the battle of the gallant users took place. They are making a diversion plan which will be an easier move for them to win. But the cons of it is the purpose of making a gallant user that they sacrifice his life for the sake of victory.

Soon the battle continued and the exchange of fights would occur. The intensity is now greater for both sides as both sides want to win. The battlefield was so bloody as seen through the eyes of Artirian. But the Empire general already noticed that the Coalition General is making a diversion move on the south that is why as soon as the Coalition forces move to the south.

The Empire General would make an order for the rider to raise the Flag to a half green and blue which means a flanker is about to happen.

A sudden change of formation quickly happened. Artirian would put notes on how it happened quickly and how the transition of movements begin. And he was amazed at how communication is able to help a battle precision strategy to be affected the whole turn of the battle.

While Artirian is focused on the battlefield he also puts a huge effort into an army strategic advantage position and disadvantage ones which may give him knowledge on a few precautionary measures to avoid too many casualties on his side. But for what he knows the raising of flags is to grandeur to be used in the future to come.

 After an hour of watching the entire battlefield scenes, Artirian then decides to go down from the treehouse. Before going down Artirian whispered to himself "It looks like it's over and I should go done now…" After that, he continued to go down and then proceed to the hideout. He then tried to take a rest but from his slumber. He tends to have a dream about the battle and to what if he was the one who is leading the battle. He is also thinking if he will win or he will be life a general that has almost been wiped clean.

After a few hours, the winning victor was the empire forces with outstanding coordination and communication they have beaten the invading Coalition forces. After that fight, some were so traumatized because the empire also lost too many soldiers in that battle. That is why the General ordered for a victory party and made his men happy by letting them drink.

As the victory party lasted for 2 days straight on the third day the General and his staff were not aware that there was a second wave of Republican army heading towards the village it was the reinforcing army for the coalition that routed from last time. The Republican army was supposed to arrive on the day of the battle but unfortunately, sudden things happened so they were delayed and that is why the Coalition kingdoms' forces routed and retreated. 

It was the dark of night and everyone was in a joyous state. Drinking and playing some were singing and having fun with everyone.

Every conscript,knights and even generals have been having fun. Then came a volley of arrows the soldiers did not expect. It was so sudden that they couldn't react immediately. Some thought of it as a joke but as they got hit in the head body and other parts of their body they were too late.

Followed by those arrows were screams from both conscripts and other soldiers in the encampment. Panic and chaos erupted even the Provost marshal did not prove working to stabilize the whole encampment. While all of the chaos was ongoing outside in the inn where Artirian was they are still having fun and still singing and eating, celebrating. Then a cadet with a bloody face goes into the Inn and then shouted "WE ARE BEING ATTACKED!" 

Soon it was followed by explosions and the sound of sword fights. The people inside the inn immediately grab their weapons and then go out. But soon after the Inn soldiers headed out a loud explosion occurred that destroyed the front door. Then came after the explosion a ton of flying debris of wooden planks and windows that are broken and a cloud of smoke came after.

After that explosion came to a body flying inside the Inn. As the conscript landed on a table and then the table then be destroyed because of the impact that was generated. As Artirian peeked over he saw near the door was cut off limbs and some bodies were seen on the ground blood were everywhere. Then Artirian hurriedly goes to the back door of the Inn but unfortunately, it has been blocked from the outside. 

The Republican army general has already planned his attack beforehand. As he also has gathered information that the general leading the Empire army is a drunkard and rather wants to celebrate than to fight. Artirian has no choice but to use his Gallant power to open the door but it is really inappropriate because it will catch attention with other people and it may end up all of the republcian forces may target him.

Meanwhile, at the front of the Inn after the smoke diminished came to a heavy knight slowly walking inside the Inn. As he entered he was escorted by an entire squad of footmen and knights of the Republican army.

Whale the Empires Knights and some of the conscripts who are still pinned down on the ground were unable to fight. The Republican knights as their bodies were in pain some of them were intoxicated. Then the Muscular Knight said with a rough deep voice "Kill everyone inside of this place I don't want a single person left alive." .

Then the Republican Knights and footmen proceed with their given order. They then slaughtered and tortured some of the Knights of the empire. It was simply a massacre of no mercy. Even the officers that were sleeping were stabbed to death. 'ARHHHHH" one knight shouted. "HELP!! No UGH!" one officer shouted as he begs for mercy. Some of the bodies of officers were hanged to death at the balcony of the Inn. 

Meanwhile, Artirian was still trying to open the back door but it won't work. So he looked around and found an old box that had been used to store food. Artirian then opened it and tried to make sure he was fit in the box luckily he did.

And he still opened a small gap for him to breathe and the oxygen to circulate. And there he hid and he also slept and tried to pray for the creator to save him. He felt the morning came because inside the box was getting cold.
