Chapter 74 : Commemoration

Ramenman strokes his suit as he waits backstage in Astraeus hall. He glances at Kaizo who stands not far from him. Ramenman smirked.

"Excited to see your crush in a dress?" Ramenman cheerfully asks as he wraps his arm around Kaizo.

"Tsk...." Kaizo pushes him off.

Soon after the incident at Planet circus settled, Astraeus station held a celebration party. Kaizo and his team's rank was raised from cadet into lance corporal. They are to be given an honorary badge at tonight's party.

"You know, this is a perfect opportunity," said Ramenman.

"For what?"

"Confessing your love," said Ramenman.

Kaizo blushed.

"This is your chance!" said Ramenman eagerly. "Think about it. You ask her for a dance and then you say that you liked her. It would be romantic."

"Hmph! Such a ridiculous idea," said Kaizo.

"Eyyyy... that's the lowest standard. Normally you pull her to somewhere private. There should be flowers, fireworks, and stuff. But I know you're a shy guy so I'm giving you the simplest tips that you can follow," said Ramenman.

Kaizo rolled his eyes, ignoring Ramenman.

Shortly later, Rum came. She wears a dark blue dress. The shade of her dress goes lighter as it goes down to her feet. The layers at the bottom of her dress aligned, mimicking the waves of a sea.

"Well, hello, gorgeous," said Ramenman.

"Please, stop," said Rum as she raised her hand with an unimpressed look. "Why do you like to say something that will make misunderstandings? Rumors already spread because you told Yuxiang and Mithra we're dating back at Planet Circus."

Ramenman chuckled. "You know well those baseless rumors will just pass by."

Rum sighed.

"Where's Axion?" Kaizo asked.

"Yeah. Where is she? Can't wait to see her dress. I bet she's stunning," said Ramenman as he teases Kaizo.

"She went to fix her hair. She'll be here soon," said Rum.

The sound of heels echoes through the corridor. They look at the corridor to find Axion coming. Her black dress flutters as she walks closer. Laces lightly decorate the edges of her dress. The dress followed the curves of her waist.

Kaizo watches her. Intoxicated by her grace.

Ramenman whistled. "I didn't know you can dress like this."

Axion chuckled. "Honestly, I didn't care much about my outfit at first. But I'm feeling sassy tonight. So I better wear something appropriate for the occasion," said Axion

Ramenman laugh. "Looks like you're ready to spit some sarcastic insults."

"Oh yes. Absolutely. I'm going to enjoy myself watching Spicy Gluten tonight," said Axion.

"Oohhh feisty," Ramenman replied.

"Since when you care about Gluten and her lot?" Rum asked.

"Since the wheel of fortune rolled and I get to be above her," said Axion as she smirked. "Spicy Gluten's petty pranks are not worth concerning. But I'm always excited to see someone like her fall to her knee."

"I see your recovery is going well," said Admiral Maskmana as he walked closer. "Seeing as how you're unusually ready to bite someone."

Axion chuckled.

"Yes, Admiral. We're in full condition now," said Kaizo.

"I'm happy to hear that. Are you guys ready? There will be a lot of people there and the five of you are the stars for tonight," said Admiral Maskmana as he looked at each of the team members.

"We're already used to performing at the circus. We'll be fine," said Axion.

"Hahaha. Right. Well, then. See you at the stage," said Admiral Maskmana.

Admiral Maskmana walks away towards the stage. He stood at a podium and straightened his back.

"Greetings. Cadets and guests from all galaxies. Just a few weeks ago, Astraeus station has worked hand in hand with a few justice enforcement units. We helped bring back those who were taken and captured those who are responsible," Admiral Maskmana began.

"During the mission, a team has found the kidnapped victims and solved the criminal case circulating at Planet Circus. Over 200 kidnap cases were found and over 20 criminal gangs have been apprehended. All these remarkable deeds are accomplished with the help of our fellow brethren," said Admiral Maskmana. "Tonight, I proudly present to you, the team with the most contribution on Planet Circus Mission," he continues as he points backstage.

Everyone clapped as Kaizo and his team walked on the stage. They stand tall. Admiral Maskmana walks closer to Kaizo.

"For your bravery and wit to solve the case, I award you this honorary badge of freedom," said Admiral Maskmana as he pins a badge on Kaizo's chest.

"Good work," Admiral Maskmana whispered.

"It's an honor, Sir," Kaizo replied.

Admiral Maskmana gives the honorary badge to each of Kaizo's team members. He then turned to the audience.

"I hope you will follow their lead and continue to do your best. May we all thrive to be a promising defender of the galaxy," said Admiral Maksmana. "And now, Let us enjoy tonight's party."

Admiral Maskmana walks off the stage. As soon as the formalities end, people begin to scatter, looking for their dancing partners. The orchestra starts to tune their instrument and a waltz soon begins to play.
