An assassin and A Detective. (Part 2)

Elisa was sitting in a chair, staring at a lit candle in deep thought.

She was feeling strange, a kind of emptiness that she can't define.

She started to have these feelings after Zulkernyn left.

Yesterday, after seeing the extent of Zulkernyn injuries, she wanted to take him to a hospital.

A simple first aid won't last long, his wounds can open up again anytime.

But Zulkernyn refused to go to any hospital.

After bickering back and forth for a while, Zulkernyn relented to go to her apartment in the city.

After arriving at her new apartment, she helped Zulkernyn patched up.

Zulkernyn wanted to leave right away after being patched up, but she didn't let her go.

She at least wanted to have him rest at her place for a day.

They had lunch together, at some point she was tired and fell asleep.

When she woke up after an hour or so, Zulkernyn was nowhere to be seen.

He left...

Zulkernyn left a note of thanks to her for helping him patch his wounds.

She didn't get to give him her thanks for saving her.

That's it.

She felt certain feelings of appreciation, admiration and affection for Zulkernyn.

These kinds of feelings, it's first for her.

A man possessing present intellect and a well-formed body.

A person who seems to answer any kind of question one asks.

Not Subjective but realistic.

There is not even a sliver of greed in his eyes.

She never expected Zulkernyn to make such an effect on herself.

He was mysterious!

An incredibly mysterious person.

There was a car for him at the airport but there was no one to receive him.

From what she observed from Zulkernyn, his fighting skills were critical!

Every move was meant to kill, there was no hesitation.

It was not his first time killing someone...

Elisa frowned.

The most surprising things were was his body condition.

How was he able to fight in that condition, let alone move?

Even in that condition, he didn't even show pain in his eyes.

He was only annoyed that he was wounded to that extent.

He drove the car feeling completely calm and composed. As if nothing was wrong with him!

Although the time they spend was so short, it left a significant memory for Elisa.

Putting her head on the table, she sighed.

Raising her head, she looked at the laptop in front of her.

The laptop was connected to a hard-drive.

The information she got from the hard-drive wasn't much.

She found out that, Ember wasn't the cause of the missing people in Stardust City but it was a different organisation called Four Dragons.

The information on the hard-drive was full of names of some handlers and some meeting points.

There are some accounts as well, but it's completely useless to her.

By now, these people are probably dead!

Four Dragons will not leave any loose ends.

The accounts were probably abandoned.

The organisation seems to be at a multinational level.

For such a big organisation, that she only just found out, is not some organisation a single detective can handle.

Taking her phone from the table, she dialled a number.

After 10 minutes of trying, the call was connected.

"Ohohoho, Boss! Wassup?" A robotic voice was heard from the other side of the call.

"I need you to dig more into Ember, moreover, try to get me in contact with someone in Ember. Someone, you trust, someone I can trust!" Elisa said to the person on the phone.

"Alright, Boss, I'll try what I can do." The robotic voice sighed.

"Is there anything else?" The robotic voice asked, feeling that it's not the end of their work from the Detective.

They know very well, that Detective Elisa Montgomery is not kind to give out some simple tasks.

"I need information on someone. Zulkernyn Yazid Hassan! I need to know everything you can find on him."

"Haaaisss...Boss is cruel as ever! I'll try what I can do..."

The call ended.

Putting down her phone on the table, Elisa narrowed her eyes.

Her personal feelings aside, Zulkernyn is a suspicious person.

She is thankful to him for saving her but as a Detective, she can't let a potential threat to the public roam on the streets unrestricted!

"Zulkernyn, who are you?" Elisa muttered thinking about Zulkernyn.

~~~
"Ouuuch, ooou ouuuch, HEY!!!" Zulkernyn snapped at Ana who was treating him.
Raising her head, Ana glared at Zulkernyn.
"You're lucky, that you're alive. If it veren't for my medicine, you vould've veen dead by now!" Ana said patching bandages on Zulkernyn's wounds.
Zulkernyn has lost a lot of blood, its a miracle that he's still conscious.
Although, there weren't any vital internal injuries, however, Zulkernyn's injuries are very serious!
"You're not alloved to move much. Take zome rezt for the veek, until your condition ztabilizez."
"Umm, I was thinking of..." Zulkernyn was about to say something but seeing Ana's expression of 'If you want to die, then let me help you die', Zulkernyn shut up.
Sighing inwardly, Zulkernyn replied to Ana.
"Okay, I'll rest! Happy?"
Ana nodded.
"Can you give me my bag, please?"
Ana rolled her eyes at Zulkernyn before she went to grab his backpack.
Taking the backpack from a chair nearby, Ana returned to Zulkernyn, giving him the bag.
Taking the backpack, Zulkernyn took out some old slightly worn-out books and scrolls.
"Here! These are for you." He held the books and scrolls in his arms and prompted Ana to take them from him.
"Vhat are they?" Ana asked, she was curious about the books.
"First tell me, how many languages of old you know?"
"A few, vhy?"
"I took these from the Library of Wisdom and Death. I don't know what these are, but I know that these are long lost recipes of medicines, potions, and some knowledge of several types of treatment methods. It will benefit you a lot, Ana." Zulkernyn smiling at Ana explained to her, what these books and scrolls in his hands are.
Ana was stunned by hearing Zulkernyn.
She knows how difficult it is for Zulkernyn to take out these books and scrolls from the Library of Wisdom and Death.
Even if he is the heir to Hassan's, Zulkernyn can't do that!
He has violated several rules of his clan, to get these books and scrolls out of the Library of Wisdom and Death.
Ana frowned.
"Iz that vhy you vere attacked?"
Zulkernyn nodded.
"It's no big deal, the elders didn't punish me, instead they are nagging me to death, to marry someone! It doesn't matter if it is a guy or a girl, they just want me to get hitched!!!"
"Moreover, I got to take care of some traitors in my clan, so it's fine. Take it, it will help you in the field of medicine. Who knows, maybe there is some ancient medicine about giving people extraordinary abilities in here, don't worry, just take it!"
Ana didn't know what to say.
She shook her head and sighed, smiling at Zulkernyn before hugging him carefully.
"Thanks, Zulk!"
"You're welcome."
"I'm going to go rezume my vork, after the blood tranzfuzion you can go 'ome. Take zome rezt for a day or two, don't move too much! You need to 'eal your voundz to an extent before you can go back to your regular routine."
"Okay!"
Ana checking on Zulkernyn one last time, left the ward.
Zulkernyn took out his Tab from the backpack to check the reports that he inquired of Terry.
After reading the reports, Zulkernyn had a startled look on his face.
On the reports, there are more than two thousands of missing cases that happened recently in the past 2 months.
The numbers shocked him to the core!
All of the missing cases recorded here will probably make international headlines if they were made public.
But that's not what he is concerned about.
What he is concern about is, there's a detective hell-bent on destroying Ember.
Believing that Ember is possibly the one behind the missing cases.
Zulkernyn doesn't know what to do with this situation.
The profile of the detective in front of him is not bad.
A woman of justice.
Honour, Honesty, Valour and Loyalty.
The detective's profile looks more like modern chivalry codes!
"What the fu*k do I do to this woman!!! Elisa Montgomery... You're driving me crazy!" Zulkernyn massaged his head in frustration.
