Karli had her arms crossed over her chest and a scowl on her face when Cody came through the front door. "Where were you? You ran off as soon as we got back from the doctor's office without saying anything other than 'I'm going out for a while.'"

"I needed to work off my stress. I think I'm okay now though."

"That isn't a real answer."

He sighed. "I went to go fight Alex because none of my other friends were available, alright? While I was there, he gave me some advice too so I'm going to do my best to take it."

"You were so upset by the news that we're having triplets that you needed to go pick a fight with somebody? Seriously?" Karli ran a hand through her hair in exasperation, which now rested slightly above her shoulders so it was much easier to do than before. "Do you hate the idea of having a family that much?"

She already knew his feelings on the matter. Why did they keep having to rehash it?
