Chapter 4

The last of our brother was frozen in fear and just stood there. After a few second the flame centipede was done with its feast and looked towards our last brother. That seemed to finally bring him out of it as he began to run back to our group as fast as he could go.

The large predator watched its prey run for a bit before its entire body lit up on fire, but it did not seem to be in any pain. In fact, it seemed as though it was much more comfortable the way it was.

In a red streak it was already in front of our 'brother' as it quickly wrapped its long body tight around him. We watched in horror as our 'brother' was burnt slowly amidst screams not even able to struggle much. When it was over, the flame centipede drilled through the walls not even sparing us a glance before disappearing quickly through.

I turned to see the large one of our kind looking at us with an even larger grin than before without a pause in his steps.

So that's why. It seems this whole place is a death trap. There no way I'm dying.

After the whole 'show' everyone followed the large goblin closely and diligently with their heads down. I on the other hand had my head down for another reason.

That. It seems I have a skill. Is it just me or is it everyone? I need to find a way to confirm. Cannot show levels if more than 5 levels huh? If I remember correctly the flame centipede from before, since I could not see the level means it was more than 3 levels above me. Two blank skill spaces. Does that mean it has two skills?

Frowning slightly, I looked up at the back of the one leading us.

I could not help but frown at the information I just received. Does that mean he has 3 skills, and how come I can't see his level? Does it have something to do with my level? And what does 'evolved' mean? A higher version than I? Then how do I also 'evolve'? I need answers.

We walked a while until we came across a large door, which brought me out of my thoughts. The evolved grey goblin stopped and turned to us before ordering us "Better behave yourselves in there. Better still, don't, I'm looking forward to it. Hahah!"

I'm truly beginning to hate this guy but I can only swallow my displeasure for now.

He pushed opened the large doors as we walked through. I could not help myself from looking around. We were in a large well-lit cave with torches all around. There was nothing noticeable in the cave apart from what was seated on a make shift throne at the end of the cave.

A round hideous blob of some kind. It just kept shoving meat down its throat and quite honestly it is taking all of my strength to not spit in disgust. Is that supposed to be one of us? An evolved? It had two guards standing beside stoic and imposing on both sides.

Thinking up to here a thought suddenly came to me. I quickly made sure to not show any kind of reaction. Sneaking a peak around me I see most of my 'brothers' frown and show a bit of disgust on their faces.

Looking back up I realize I can't see the blob anymore. I suddenly heard a few thuds, as something rolled close to my feet. That's when I saw it, the severed head with the same disgusted look on its face. I turned slowly to find the blob standing right in the middle of us still disgustingly eating the same meat he was earlier while his guards and Barak laughed loud with spit flying everywhere. It had easily taken out more than twenty in that single instant.

I looked back down at the head and realized that could have been me. When or how he got behind us none of us knew. At this moment I felt even more determined to get stronger. I hate this feeling of someone else being able to take my life at a whim.

"You all will work for me, yes?" It spoke for the first time since we got here. Majority, gripped with so much fear nodded frantically.

"Good. [LINK]". An invisible wave washed over me but only for a short while. I tried checking my body but nothing felt out of place. What was that? Did he use a skill?

"Take them out to hunt for me!" This time his voice sounded further. He was already back on his throne
