The next day, at the crack of dawn,Christian left his hotel room to his office. After leaving specific instructions to his Secretary he set out to meet his Lawyer. Coincidentally he got to the firm the same time as his Lawyer. They both shook hands and headed inside. While passing the reception he caught a side view of the receptionist who was busy with the system on her desk, she appeared very familiar but He was in no mood to confirm so he just kept walking. They entered the Lawyer's office and he stood by the door giving the man a little chance to settle down
"Come on in Chris, have a seat"the lawyer pointed towards the seat. Christian moved forward and sat down "So what can I do for you?"
Christian looked like he was going to break down in tears at this point, he heaved "Shawn I'm tired. I really cannot take this anymore. I've tried to love this woman,to be there for her,to tolerate her. I know I'm not perfect but she is pure evil. That woman is not supposed to be among humans. I wish I knew this before now but she hid her true self perfectly until after we got married and since then it's been hell. Pure hell for me Shawn and I want out. I'm done with this sham of a marriage. I know her and if I'm not smart about this,I already know I'm leaving this marriage mentally broken but she'll make sure I'll leave financially crippled. She'll take me for all I've got. I can't allow that happen man. I've worked so hard to get to where I am to allow that woman take me to the cleaners. That's why I need your help Shawn. What can you do for me man?" he looked up at Shawn when he was done like he was the Savior of the world.
Shawn was focused on him all the while he was talking and appeared deep in thought. By the time Christian finished he had a look similar to the one an eagle has before it pounces on it's prey. He looked at the man before him long and hard,"You know it would be impossible for her to leave empty handed. I fight hard but I fight fair. She coaxed you into marrying her with a lie,I've witnessed first hand how terribly you've suffered in her hands over the years. So I think it's only for your own good to want out and considering how much you've endured her maltreatment, it's only fair what you want to do. Like I said earlier, there's absolutely no way she'll leave the marriage without anything unless there's an undeniable evidence of abuse from her and unfortunately there's hardly ever evidence for emotional abuse. So we really have one thing to do, hide your assets if you're up to it. If you trust me enough, you'll have to temporarily transfer some of your acquired wealth to me,put properties in my name. I'm guessing she doesn't know about all your properties and exactly how much you're worth?"
Christian lets out a sad chuckle "For that to be possible she'd have to give a damn about me. All that woman's ever cared about is spending my money, she doesn't know where or how it comes and she certainly doesn't care,so no,she doesn't know a single thing that I have"
Shawn nods repeatedly "Hmm,well that makes this even easier to do. But we need to move fast, she may be ignorant but she's not stupid. As soon as she realizes you're serious about divorcing her,I'm 99% sure she's going to hire a private investigator to find out everything you own,how much you're worth and we'll make sure they'll find nothing. By the time the divorce pulls through, she'll be leaving with next to nothing. Now here comes the big question,do you trust me enough to put your properties in my name, transfer your money to me and some of your shares as well? "
"Come on man,you know I trust you with my life. Let's get to it immediately."
"Alright then. I'll prepare the necessary documents for the transfers, it's better I do it myself. It's safer to think everyone could be working for your wife including your staff so don't discuss anything with anyone. If I fax you any documents, print them yourself. We won't be doing anything illegal mind you. You will legally transfer these things to me,with witnesses to sign on it. A year after the divorce everything returns to you. In the meantime, I want you to start cutting down on your expenses. Also don't stop giving her the allowances you usually do but cut a minuscule amount of it and always try to complain a little before giving it, not all the time of course.Start giving her the impression that money is becoming tight, the company is no longer doing well. Handle things on your end and leave the rest to me. I promise you that by the time your divorce is finalized, you'll only feel like you had just gone shopping for a new car. "
He went ahead to give him a draft of how the documents will be prepared, their strategy and argument for the divorce if the wife puts up a fight and they end up in court. By the time they were done it was almost lunchtime.
Christian stood up to go"Thanks man. I knew I could count on you. I'll take my leave, let me head back to the office, try to get some work done before end of day" He shook hands with him and left.
Shawn started on the documents immediately. He was expecting another client soon but he figured he would get something done before the client comes. He was gone halfway when he got a call from the reception that a client was there to see him. He saved what he already did and went down to receive his client. And No this was not a VIP client, Shawn does that for all his clients. No other Attorney in the firm does that except him and nobody ever understood why especially when the clients could easily be directed to his office or even brought up by the receptionist if he asked. He alone knew why he did the things he did.
So with a cheerful smile,"Hello Madam. I hope I didn't keep you waiting. Come with me please, let's go up to my office" The only time Shawn could be caught smiling was when he was with clients. He was nothing short of polite to everybody else. He was always taunted for being too serious, even more serious than the senior partners but none of that moved him.
The robust woman who had been sitting gloomily in the reception with an obvious bruise on her face surprisingly broke out into a smile. He held her hands and helped her up then walked behind her as they walked past the reception desk. He took the time to look around the room, for a brief moment he had a disappointing look like he didn't see what he was looking for then he was back to cheerfully chatting with his client as they went into the elevator and headed up to his office
Meanwhile in the reception a middle aged man who was sitting alone in a secluded place brought down the paper he had been pretending to read and watched the two people that walked out of the reception. He took pictures secretly with his phone until they disappeared from sight then he stood up and left.
Behind him a woman just left the restroom and was heading to the reception. His actions were suspicious to her so she hid and watched him. She followed him when he left. He got into a rough looking car and drove away. But she discreetly took a picture with her phone managing to capture the plate number then she went back inside
