TIME OF DEATH

However, any of these known determining factors were of a little help to Santina.

Because at their case, making such estimates from the aforementioned factors was nothing but a pipe dream already.

The killer had already removed most of the internal organs of the victims, which of course interfered with the normal works of microbes.

So at best, Santina could only make out the time of death to be around three to four days due to the presence of maggots which usually took place only after all of the natural cadaveric decomposition.

Santina walked over to her workstation and took the reading glass from one of her drawers.

She wore her glasses first before she picked up her clipboard where she used to jot down her ideas whenever one crossed her mind.

"Same as the others, there was very little blood found around the body. Suggesting that the killer committed the crime somewhere else."

Santina said while squinting at the documents that she had on hand.

"Due to the nature of his killings, the place where our killer used to commit his crime should be a place that was fairly hidden and easy to clean. Somewhere that was easy to flush out. Since there would obviously be a lot of blood. With that in mind, we could not rule out the possibility that our crime scene could be a bathroom, a garage, or even a vehicle."

Mikael added afterward, adding more of the details that they had observed so far.

"Indeed, and he may have changed his clothes as well before he dumped the bodies of his victims to avoid drawing attention towards him and risk being suspected."

Santina continued. Meanwhile, Mikael walked towards the same large whiteboard that was situated in the opposite direction of the door.

He put his hand over his face and held it over his mouth for a few more seconds before he put it under his chin, a mannerism that he had ever since his high school years.

'SIXTEEN' was the heading that was written on the new column on the extreme right part of the board which obviously belonged to the latest victim that they had on their case. Whilst down the leftmost column of the whiteboard, on the other hand, were series of rows that were marked out with categories such as 'Age', 'Sex', 'Date of Death', and 'Mutilations'.

"Todays is Friday, May 1"

Mikael said as he picked up a marker and stared at the blank space at the end of the row that corresponded to the approximate date of death. He started tapping on the board as though counting silently in his mind.

"It is a Saturday. Sunday at most."

Santina who had been observing him from afar finished him off.

After a year of working together, the two had already developed a certain of connection with another. As such it was not hard for Santina anymore to try and figure out what was Miguel trying to do at that brief moment.

The aspiring priest turned his attention to the professor and nodded his head as the answer that he eventually came up with in his mind happened to the same as what Santina claimed.

He turned to the whiteboard again and jotted down, Saturday, April 25 in the previous space.
