Start Packing

It's been two days since the camping trip. They had one day till they would head back to their home town. Elan was nervous because she knew if she doesn't surrender herself on her eighteenth birthday her nana will die. Even if Darby was joking she couldn't take the chance.

Elan knew she wouldn't be able to fight back to anyone on the day following her eighteenth birthday. So she is sacrificing herself for her families lives. She packed up her stuff in the suitcase and said she needs to go and get another one for the books. Lucas walked her to the store so she can buy one. When they came back home and finished packing up they went out to eat at the same diner they did the first time they came to California.

After they ate dinner they decided to go to bed early since they would have to get up at 6 to drive to the airport. This time they would take a private plane as it will also transfer Tyler's dad. They fell asleep and no one stayed up late because they will have a long week preparing for school.

They woke up around 5:30ish and packed everything into the car and headed to the airport. On the way home they just had casual conversations back and forth. Talking about what they plan to do during their senior year. Future school activities they will do and everything.

After the hours passed they finally reached Maine. Elan's first goal was to go home and check on her Nana since she was worried the entire flight back. On the car ride to Elan's home Elan got a text from Darby. It said don't forget princess I have eyes everywhere.

Elan kept the text a secret from the guys because she knew it would only worry them. Elan arrived at her house and grabbed her stuff and waved goodbye to her friends. After seeing them drive away Elan ran up the driveway to the door. She opened the door to find her nana holding a piece of paper. Elan walked slowly inside to see the piece of paper up closer. The paper said Elan's grandmother has to go into the retirement home after Elan turns 18.

Elan asked her why she would have to go to a retirement home. Elan's grandmother told her she has to go because Elan's mother's will passes everything to Elan. Which includes the house and the guardians said she can't leave with Elan. After that point Elan will have to learn how to live on her own. Elan didn't like the idea of her grandmother having to leave home but she agreed to it.

Elan unpacked all of her stuff and organized all the cool stuff she brought home from California. She took out a present she bought for her grandmother. She walked down the stairs to give it to her grandmother. Elan dropped the present because her grandmother was talking to someone in the front room. It was Darby, Elan's grandmother didn't know who Darby was. Elan picked up the present about to kick out Darby but she got a text and it said don't act to rashly or she dies now.

Elan slowly sat down and her grandmother told Elan that she didn't know Elan had such a cute nice friend from school. Elan learned that Darby transferred to her school to finish his senior year along with keeping a close eye on Elan. Elan decided to keep her mouth shut but told her grandmother it was getting late and she wanted to go to bed. Elan's grandmother told Elan to walk Darby to his car and make sure he leaves without getting lost before she can go to bed.

Elan walked him to his car and she said I'll do what ever you want just don't bring my grandmother into this. Elan gave Darby a warning. Darby realized she was being serious but he wanted to have fun. He grabbed Elan's face and said better keep your words or their will be no promises. He got into his car and told Elan "have sweet dreams. Since you know where nightmares lead too". He drove away and Elan let out the air she was holding. She walked into the house and went to her room and decided to go to bed early since she was tired.
