Still Akeno's POV

I was training my control with magic as it was Grayfia-sensei's task for me before she left. Rias came back with a white haired... cat person? It seems she is still a child younger than me.

I raised an eyebrow as to who might she be as it was my first time seeing a cat person in real life. I saw yokais before because mother's work consists of purging evil spirits.

Rias then introduced her to me. Her name is Koneko Toujou, a nekomata. She then greeted me as I nodded my head and returned back to training. Rias was grumpy about it and said that if I don't want to play with her then she'll just play with Koneko.

(Misla changed Shirone's name to show her, her new life. The bodyguard with Rias also thought that she was just a nekomata, not a variant.)

I didn't mind her threat as I want to focus on being strong, stronger than anyone my age, so that I won't be powerless once more, and playing would just waste my time. Rather than playing, I would rather practice my control over magic.

A few days passed by and they visited our house, I played with them sometimes because mother said that a perfect balance of training and letting some steam off is ideal for my growth. I don't want to train all my life and disrupt my growth, how would I lure Vergil if my body stopped growing? I'm sure Mayumi had an advantage already by being in Vergil's side but I won't lose, all is not lost yet.

A few more months passed by and Koneko was telling us the stories that her sister told her and we listened to her... but when her storytelling got into escaping with her sister, she mentioned a name. A name I wouldn't ever forget, Vergil. Koneko said that 'big brother' Vergil made the bad guys before them disappear and he helped her save her sister.

I then asked her the description of the 'Vergil' that she was telling us, and all her description matched with the Vergil I know, Silvery-white hair, he is wielding a sword, and his blue eyes. I was mad, mad at him. He can come and go in this place but he didn't want to take us away. I sighed as I remembered the words in his note and clenched my fist tighter.

"Are you okay, Akeno-nee?" Koneko asked innocently

"I'm fine." I smiled at her to show that nothing was wrong.

Koneko then continued her story as it finished, Rias seemed to be excited because it is the typical hero that saves the day that she had read in story books.

A few years have passed. Rias' father, Zeoticus, announced her engagement with Raiser Phenex to further strengthen the bonds between family also to get a discount on the Phenex's prized treasure, the Phoenix Tears.

Rias was sullen because of her sudden engagement which caught even her brother in surprise. Sirzechs did all he can to stop their engagement and all it does was delay the inevitable, Rias will have to marry Raiser when she graduated in college.

Seeing that there are plenty of time and maybe her brother can do something about it, Rias shook her head to remove it from her head and got back to her usual carefree attitude. I told her that if she wants to stop the marriage, she needs to be stronger so that her father cannot decide her fate. And it all went down the drain as she just shrugged it off. In her mind her lovely brother would surely do something about it.

Seeing that it was not working, I just focused on strengthening myself. Koneko also joined me in training to control her energy but Grayfia-sensei said that there are no one available to teach Koneko about ki that nekomata's use so she can only teach her in hand to hand combat.

Koneko's reason for training was to protect her sister so that she will not part with her sister anymore and someday meet 'big brother' Vergil once more.

A few more years passed. Rias finally got her evil pieces and was elated about it. The first thing she did was asked me to become her queen, I was skeptical about it, but if it will make me strong... so be it. Koneko gained the rook piece. And an as a gift for getting her Evil pieces, Sirzechs introduced her to Kiba, the person who will become her knight and Gasper who became her bishop.

I don't know exactly who they are as I've never heard of them. I then continued my training in controlling this new form of energy inside my body.

'So this is devil's energy.' I thought as I continued mustering my control over it.

Koneko also joined me in training her newfound power.

Kiba and Gasper were confused of what we are doing as they followed Rias to show them around the Gremory domain.

A few days passed by and I learned a bit from Kiba. He is a man of few words and was trained by someone named Okita Souji, Sirzech's knight. Meanwhile Gasper is a ticking time bomb. He would activate his power without him noticing and was pretty much blaming himself for that. I told him that if he controls his power, then he would become one of the strongest but he didn't listen and instead cowered more.

Gasper then activated his power several more times as he finally snapped, leading Rias to seal him.

I was pitying Gasper, I thought if he could really control his power and become brave, he will be strong in the future.

I'm the peerage's queen but I can't do anything to help the new members. The king also seems like she doesn't plan on doing so. I sighed as I lamented the fact that the king we had is a lousy one. If she doesn't care then she doesn't but I do. I will just have to get stronger and carry them by my own strength.

A year has passed after Rias got her evil pieces, and seeing that nothing is happening to her engagement, she was restless, I also gave up on encouraging her to train. She thought her brother would do something about it, but it seems like there wasn't anything Sirzechs could do. Seeing that there is no way out, she consulted her friend Sona. I met Sona many times before and I admired her dream, it may seem impossible but when I thought of Vergil, impossible doesn't seem to be in his dictionary.

Sona proposed to her to take the school term in the overworld, but she doesn't have a reason to do that, there are lots of schools in the underworld. She racked her brains and finally decided to use the excuse of getting experience in leading a territory just like what Cleria did.

Rias nodded her head with satisfaction and proposed it to her father who seemed thoughtful that Rias is learning to run a territory to become a proper heiress of the Gremory household.

A month after preparing, we set out once again at the human world in the town of Kuoh, I missed this place once more as I looked everywhere with longing.

'I wonder, how is Vergil and Mayumi after all these years?' I thought as we walked to the place they called as The Guild.

When we arrived at the place, I was astounded of the simplicity of the place. It was not overly grand and was pleasing to the eyes. We followed Grayfia-sensei and Sirzechs to an elevator to the top floor and was met with two figures, Sirzechs called the first one, Francis and seemed to question who the masked one is. Francis said that he was his nephew and will be a witness to their contract.

My intuition bells kept ringing as I kept on staring at the masked one as he/she may be on the same age as me. I then studied his/her appearance, a silvery white hair, a strong body, and firm posture. Seeing me staring at him/her, it narrowed its eyes at me as if amused. (MC let his hair down, just like Dante, not his usual spiky hair.)

The talk was mostly done by Sirzechs and Grayfia-sensei seemed to be shaking... in fear? But why? I don't sense anyone or anything dangerous in this place. Serafall, Sona's sister seems to also notice Grayfia's restlessness but decided to ask them later.

When the talks were finished Grayfia-sensei. Serafall, and Sirzechs huddled together as I don't know what they are talking about as Rias was talking to me about the masked one saying that he/she is creepy wearing a mask in an informal setting. I was spaced out as the intuition bells are still ringing that I would regret not attending to this chiming bells.

Koneko then spoke to me and snapped me out of my deep thinking.

"Are you okay, Akeno-nee? You seemed to space out?" She asked.

"I'm fine. I just thought that I knew the masked person." I said.

Sirzechs then came to us and said to us that under any circumstances, don't incur the wrath of that masked man. If we do, not even he can save us from our fate.

I took his advice into mind as he won't warn us if it wasn't necessary. I then stared at the masked one once more before they leave the place.

Manage to squeeze another one with my measly breaks and a little bit of... Slacking in the job XD

So, I have been reading the stay at home dad novel because I became a nanny to my cousin when I had a leave from work, and had a thought. 'What if MC suddenly became a father, what would happen?' The cold and cool persona of Vergil, plunging into the realm of taking care of a kid XD

So yeah another food for thought. I may or may not do it, who knows.
