Your love for me

ran out,

slipped away,

and died.

But, I still haven't forgotten

how it made me feel.

It will always

be remembered

because it will always

be the love

that created

all my romantic first times.

It will stay nostalgic

because it is the love

I took in my favorite places,

I hear in my favorite songs,

and I see in my favorite films.

It will stay alive,

because it is also

the same love

I brought into my poetry.

—And poetry,

it lives through pages and centuries,

even if your love didn't.
