Chapter 15 - Letting matters slide

"Reitgan? What does it do, and why did it cause your eyes to bleed?"

Hina asked in a worried tone.

Hearing her asking made Ernie's heart thump, it wasn't the question but more so how she said it. As if she was genuinely worried about him.

"It's complicated. The Sharingan allows the user to see chakra while also allowing the user to see things at a faster speed than a normal person. I'm pretty sure they can also copy a bunch of different jutsu they see, giving them strong fighting potential. Not to mention their genjutsu is out of this world, at least from what I remember…"

Ernie paused as he tried to recall anything else he could faintly remember about the Sharingan. He was sure there was something he was missing, but he just couldn't figure it out right now.

"But, my Reitgan gives me total control over various chakra natures, for instance ice. It feels like my entire body is made of ice, I can create it in any element I want and it'll never melt. I'm also capable of using jutsu of the same nature without using hand signs. There are other things, but I never learned about them before my clan was wiped out. I do know that all of our senses are enhanced as well as our strength."

Ernie just told the girls what he discovered about his Reitgan through the years. It took a lot of work and training, but he figured that there were still many mysteries related to his Dojutsu.

He doubted it could be called one of the three great dojutsu, but it was his own and no one else had it.

Solstice, which was Winter's Chill in one piece was his Reitgan. If he knew that the system would turn any item he brought into this world into a dojutsu, he would have definitely picked something else instead.

But, time could not be turned back and he'd rather not live in a cave again for a while if he was being honest.

"It doesn't sound that complicated. Give me some of your blood, i'll master it in a week!"

Himari said.

Ernie laughed.

"It doesn't work that way."

Himari pouted.

"Anyways, we traveled a great distance. That technique I used was a bit special and used up all of my chakra, so I really need to regain my energy and rest. You two should do the same."

Ernie said as he finished eating his food and threw the stick the meat was on away.

He found a nice spot on the ground and laid down looking up at the clear sky before he closed his eyes.

"Hey Ernie…"

Ernie looked over at Hina.

"Yeah?"

"We'll take you to the herbs we harvested."

"Alright, but i'm not in a rush to get them anymore."

Ernie replied back.

The three of them closed their eyes and got some well deserved rest.

While they were sleeping Aito and Yui were catching up to them slowly.

"Are you sure he's in this direction? I mean, it's so far!"

Yui asked as she lept from rock to rock following behind Aito.

"I'm sure, when we catch up to him, we'll have to ask him what happened. I'm sure there is an explanation."

"If! It'll take us a whole day to reach them, and if they start travelling then we'll have to lessen the distance between us. If I don't get any sleep tonight, i'm killing someone."

Yui said as she gazed up at the sky.

As Yui and Aito were trying to catch up to Ernie, there were two figures in the clan leaders home in the Kizamaru clan.

"How do you let three brats escape?"

The clan leader asked furiously?

"Not only did they escape, they killed one of our own right in front of us! If this gets out, we'll be a laughing stock in the entire land!"

He continued.

"Lord, calm down we will find them."

A man with long black hair said.

The clan leader gazed at him with fire in his eyes.

"You better!"

"Lord, I suggest we do otherwise. If that boy could do that by himself and travel a great distance in the blink of an eye, think about what his other clan members would be able to do? Are you sure it is ok to provoke those kind of people?"

The hooded figure asked.

"You're the one who said we should get the girls and toss them aside, now you say otherwise?"

"That was before we knew what he was capable of. We expand and grow in numbers, while we search for them on the side. When we do locate them and his clan we'll be two or three times as large, and be able to deal with them then. For now, it's best to let this matter slide until later."

The hooded figure said.

The old man clenched his fist and gritted his teeth in anger.

"Fine! But the moment you catch sight of them, you tell me! I will kill him myself."

Ernie did not know it at the time, but the person he killed was one of the sons of the clan head of the Kizamaru clan. Without realizing it, he made the entire Kizamaru clan his enemy.
