No, no, that’s another tale.

Hex looked at Wraith and thought he was going mad. Wraith was sat crossed legged on a yellow silk cushion drinking a very strange smelling cup of tea.

Wraith looked at Hex with a weird deep look and said. "Whatever you do Hex, don't wake me up once I go to sleep." Then with a silly grin he took another slurp of tea.

Hex snorted. "Hey no worries boss. Just one question."

Wraith felt his hands going numb. "Make it quick I'm feeling sleepy."

"What shall I say if Iva calls?"

The question almost confused Wraith, but he kept his head. "Tell her I'm out visiting." Somewhere faraway Wraith thought he could hear the sound of a waterfall, then his eyes began to close and he was away.

Hex stared for a moment at the now sleeping Wraith. "Crazy as a goat." He said shaking his head and trotted off to see what he could find in the kitchen.

There was darkness in the dream thought Wraith as he slowly became aware that he was walking. Then a light of focus began to appear. He could see he was in a forest, looking up he saw long rays of sunlight cut through the tree canopy like search lights.

He stopped to try and catch any sounds. Somewhere far away he heard what he thought was rolling thunder.

A voice called out from behind him. "You look lost friend." Wraith turned to see a green crow sat on an Ivy branch.

It gave a squawk and said in a voice that had a slight Southern accent to it. "Are you in my dream or am I in yours or worst. We're both in someone else's."

Wraith rubbed his chin, he knew the answer but he just couldn't say it out loud. Then he remembered something. Something important. He knew there was a note in his pocket. A note that he had written.

He fumbled in his pocket and pulled out a piece of blue paper. On it written in golden ink was the words.

There once was a man who had a fine father.

And had ten sailing brothers and ten fine sisters,

He had an aunty and a drunken uncle,

And fine grandparents too.

He even had a cat and a donkey.

But he had no...

That was all the note said. He showed it to the green crow who read it out loud.

"Oh that's easy to solve." The crow squawked after a moment of thought. "He had no brains or is it heart, or is it courage?" the crow shook his head. "No, no, that's another tale."

Wraith was suddenly overcome with certainty. He knew the answer. Knew it more than he knew his own name.

He took a deep long breath and shouted "Mother."

The forest suddenly went quiet as if it was waiting for the word to be spoken. The crow gave a nervous glance round and flew away muttering something about finding a red brick road.

Wraith felt his feet begin to sink into the forest floor. His head clear and he finally grasped what was going on. He was visiting his mother and this was the part where he merged with her.

"Ah crap." He said as his body slipped into the forest floor.

Things were about to get confusing.
