The Bite

"Maybe the Severe asthmatic should have the flashlight?" Scott coughed.

Stiles halted in his place turning around handing the flashlight to Scott. "Fine, here you go."

"Stiles?" Scott said as he pointed his head out into the distance. They looked over to see a bunch of lights moving about. It was Stiles's father and his search party. no doubt looking for the same thing they were considering the fact that Stiles got the news from his father's radio.

"It's them," he said before Stiles immediately took off for them.

"Wait," Scott whispered before he turned off the flashlight so that it wouldn't be seen. He reached in his pocket for another whiff from his inhaler before he pocketed it and went to follow after his friend.

He soon reached Stiles hiding behind a tree, Stiles turned to raise his finger to his lip signaling for Scott to be quiet. They both listened to the voices of his Stiles's father and his deputies. It didn't sound like they found anything yet, he was about to suggest to Scott that they should continue there search elsewhere when he heard the dogs getting closer.

The flashlights shined in there direction and Stiles motioned for Scott to get away they would find them soon. Scott turned away slowly and quietly moved back distancing himself from the police and there search.

"Hey, I think I heard movement over there," one of the deputies said.

"Check it out," He heard his father said.

Stiles was sure he would be caught, The dogs started to lead officers close to where Stiles had been and their flashlights were flashing around the area making Stiles duck behind a tree so that he wouldn't be spotted.

The police were getting closer and closer before they stopped hearing a voice from another direction. Stiles breathed a sigh of relief when he heard them stop, they were moments away from finding him. Stiles could hear the sounds of the dogs disappearing in the distance. When he settled his breathing he stood up as he remembered Scoot. He reached in his pocket pulling out his cellphone, he had already given Scott his flashlight.

His cellphone did little to light the path using his memory he walked in the direction Scott headed in. It didn't take him long to find him hiding behind a tree using his inhaler to catch his breath.

"They headed in another direction, Let's go for once you were right this wasn't a good idea." Stiles helped Scott to his feet before heading back in the direction of his car.

Soon they both heard it the sound of a beast shook the woods Freezing Stiles in his place, Scott shook in fear backing up he fell down a small cliff that he couldn't see in the dark rolling down the hill. Scott slowly got to his feet looking around for his inhaler during the fall he lost his inhaler.

Turning around he flashed the flashlight it was creepy being alone in the woods at night and the flashlight did little to his appease his already growing fear. He was in a bit of a daze from the fall not hearing the sound of animals running, he turned the flashlight just in time to see a bunch of deer charge past him. He jumped back losing his grip on the flashlight after the deer was gone, he could still see the light and he lifted to come face to face with a pair of lifeless eyes.

"Whoa," he gasped to himself as he quickly got to his feet. He found the body.

The woman was young just like Stiles had said and, unfortunately, cut in half . Okay, he'd seen enough, He just wanted to find Stiles and get the hell out here. Scott then heard some twigs snap and he looked off into the darkness up ahead to see two glowing red eyes staring at him.

Eyes that were approaching him. He tried to get away but was hit with something big and heavy and the next thing he knew, he felt a sharp pain at his side.

Once the howl or the roar stopped, Stiles finally regained the will to move his body. He turned to see Scott was no longer behind him. Quickly looking down the hill he was sure Scott fail down Stiles quickly made his way down the hill.

He soon found Scott being towered over by something big. Stiles didn't spare a moment to think as he raised the branch he had like a bat and swung. He hit it across the back where it let out a low growl. Stiles saw a flash of red glowing before it swiped at him knocking him down and made his face hit into the soggy ground.

He barely lifted his head up before he felt a searing and burning pain on his arm. Stiles screamed as he was lifted up and thrown to the side. Scott got up in time to see the beast's red eyes staring back at him before it jumped out into the dark. Scott held his side as he ran off into the trees to try and find Stiles.

He ran off until he made it to an opening and the main road. Scott suddenly saw a bright light and quickly moved aside as the car swerved to avoid hitting him and honked at him.

Scott stared after the road where the car disappeared off into before he felt something grab him from behind. He started to scream and flap his arms to throw off his attacker as he screamed back at him. Stiles had been the one to grab him with his good arm before he went to grasp his wounded arm and jumped back in fright.

"Stiles?" Scott said relieved.

"Scott! What are you doing?"

"Looking for you and trying to keep from getting killed."

"Good job then. Running out into the road?"

"Oh, like coming out into the woods at night was a good job."

"No argument from me." Stiles huffed. "Let's get to my jeep and get the hell out of here!"
