Arya

Leo chose not to pay attention to his brother's taunting words. He had been that way lately—mocking everyone instead of offering any help. What a useless son. He brushed past Leo on the staircase, but just as he did, he recalled something and stopped.

Leo might know the exact reason why Shera just wouldn't let their family be. Perhaps she had told him. He went down two steps, turned and glanced at Leo. However, his fists clenched before he could utter a word. Why would Leo tell him? They were no longer in good terms. So he relaxed his fists and walked to the first floor.

Leo watched his retreating back with a raised eyebrow. 'You can just speak up, you know.' He thought. Even so, he liked the fact that everyone currently thought of him as an outsider of sorts. It made things so much easier for him.

None of them knew what he was doing; and by the time they even had an inkling, he would be done and it would be too late for them.

Meanwhile, Helen made a cup of coffee and went to the master bedroom. She found her husband standing by the window, staring at something. She placed the coffee on the nightstand and glanced at him. "I brought a cup of coffee for you. What are you staring at?"

He did not answer her, so she went over. He was actually looking at the picture of a woman. Helen frowned in confusion. "What's the meaning of this? Why are you staring at that picture?" Why would he be staring at a picture of Shera Black? Was he so idle?

In fact, upon closer look, there were more pictures on the window sill. She scanned her eyes over them and speechlessly looked at her husband, waiting for him to speak.

When he finally did, his voice was full of anxiety and what sounded like a hint of fear. He touched the photos on the windowsill and showed them to his wife. "They are all from the Black family. Do you remember the Blacks—Black Enterprise?"

"Of course." Helen had a slight tremor in her voice. How could she forget the Blacks?

"I have a feeling that woman is related to them. Perhaps she is their daughter." Julius expressed his fear.

"But… but it's not possible." Helen's voice also shook at the mention of that family. "The Blacks had a daughter, but her name was not Shera."

"I know." Julius pointed at a picture of a young woman who looked like a college student. "Her name was Arya Black."

Helen frowned at the name. "Arya…? This name…"

"That's what I'm thinking too." Julius rubbed his bloodshot eyes which were decorated with irritatingly obvious dark circles. "That woman uses the name Arya Turner in CT Corporation. And she is good in business, just like Roland Black and Susan. However, that woman looks nothing like Arya Black."

"That's many years ago, Julius. She could have changed." Helen had a bad feeling about her too. Just what kind of demoness had they provoked?

Just like her husband, Helen now had a bad feeling.

Cedric's room.

Livian charged into Cedric's room and glared at the man on the bed. Without saying a word, he pulled off the covers, grabbed Cedric's leg and angrily pulled him out of bed.

Cedric fell onto the carpeted floor with a thud and woke up with a start. He turned to glare at Livian. "Do you realize that you could have killed me?"

Livian crossed his arms, his eyes almost emitting fire from his anger. "I wish I did. You should just die and save everyone the distress."

"Is that it? You wish me dead?"

Livian tried not to beat him up and interrogated him instead. "How did you get poisoned to start with? Were you kidnapped? Did they slip it into your drink? Where were you when it happened and when did you realize it?"

The corner of Cedric's lips twitched as he got up from the floor and sat on the bed. He let out a low laugh and glanced at his brother. "You are wasting your time."

Livian clenched his fists so hard that his knuckles cracked, all so he could prevent himself from beating his useless little brother up. The whole family had stayed up trying to find an antidote for him and that was all he had to say?!

"I mean it, Livian." Cedric looked up to meet Livian's murderous gaze. "The person who poisoned me…"

He laughed as though mocking himself and everyone else who was trying to find an antidote. "She was my girlfriend and…"

"Go straight to the point." Livian was impatient.

"Elena Garcia. She is a member of La Rose Noire."
