Jade Mansion.
Leo sat in his bed, thinking about what had happened earlier. It was rather strange... such a thing had never happened before.
It was not that he had never been with a woman before: he had dated in the past. Never had he randomly thought about Lola when he was with a woman - especially not at such a time.
Actually, he and Lola had never done anything beyond hugging. She had been too young for anything else. In fact, their relationship was yet to become official.
After being friends for many years, he was going to tell her about his feelings and ask her to be his girlfriend on her eighteenth birthday, but that was the very day that tragedy happened.
Since then, he thought his heart had grown cold to love. He didn't think he would ever want to be with any woman. Not until he met Madeline. She was pretty and smart and most importantly, she was quite similar to...
Wait. Now that he thought about it, he had dated those women in the past partially because he felt they reminded him of Lola.
Then, how come he had feelings for Shera Black who was miles different from Lola? In fact, it was different from what he felt for his exes. Despite the fact that they were supposed to be enemies paired with the fact that he found 70 percent of the things she did annoying, he knew that he didn't just like Shera Black. He was falling in love with her. It was normal for a man to fall in love but he just didn't understand, why her?
...
After implementing Shera's improvised carrot and stick method, the project went back on track. The Qins were angry that they did not manage to give Shera Black any significant losses and they were even angrier at Leo for siding with her.
But no matter how they glared at him when he passed near them or yelled at him for random reasons, he didn't care.
Did he make them do whatever it was that they did to vex that demoness?
He didn't, right? So he didn't think he was obliged to help them out. Especially not when they had let their own greed control their minds and make them offend people they shouldn't.
He knew that they were probably planning something else. Not that he cared.

14th June.
Shera grinned as she looked through the news. She had been right. She didn't need to do anything to Cece in the end. The verdict had been pronounced two days ago and Cece had been sentenced to thirty years imprisonment.
However, she didn't even need to complete her sentence. Apparently, the night before, she had committed suicide while in prison.
Anyone could be fooled by that except Shera. All this while, she knew that the Mayor's son was shocked.
The woman Cece had killed was after all his mistress. Shera knew that all this while, he had been in disbelief but he couldn't do anything unless it was confirmed.
Now that it had been confirmed that Cece, the woman he had just married, was indeed the culprit, he couldn't let her off. Especially not when everyone had started talking about how the legitimate wife of the Mayor's son had murdered the mistress. How could he let his family's name be tarnished because of a woman?
So Shera believed that he had every motive to end Cece Qin. He was in power, so he might just have the police fake anything. Shera didn't care about it even though she could guess what exactly had transpired. It was none of her business.
Her business was even more interesting: why not strike the iron while it's still hot?
She summoned Purple to her study later in the evening.
"I'm going to assign you a mission." She said to the young woman.
"Yes Master." Purple had a feeling this was not one of the most enjoyable missions, but she did not say no to it.
"Good girl." Shera was pleased. She took out a photo from a drawer and gave it to Purple. "You know who that man is, right?"
"Ce-Cedric Qin?" Purple trembled. The mission was not to kill him, right?
"I'm not asking you to kill him." Shera laughed heartily, then her expression suddenly turned evil. "I want you to seduce him. Make him fall in love with you." She ignored Purple's shocked expression and went ahead. "His beloved little sister just passed away. He must be so sad right now... poor thing." She pulled on a sarcastic 'pitiful' tone and expression.
"You, as Elena, will comfort him during his lowest moments. He will surely fall in love with you."
