The Lord...

Year- 1946

"Oh crap!!!" Lord Edward Cunnings exclaimed at the Parke Circus. "Ehhh! Hello Driver!"

The taxi driver was irritated at getting this request, while negotiating the details of turning into Howard Street across the path of a 18' bus , a 56-B and a cycle, bent an un-wishful ear.

"Actually! I have left behind the brochure ." Lord Edward spoke in a deprecating manner. "Well! I am not usually this kind of careless! So, do you mind going back to where we had come from please!?"

"Oh! You mean back to the Elite Club, sir?"

"No..No! I mean 120 Parke. It is just beyond, you see! Thanks a lot!"

"Really? But did not you say, you were in a hurry?" The taxi driver shot back, in an amgry and saracsatic tone.

"Well, I am afraid that it is an awkward place to turn in." The Lord seemed to be answering his thinking, rather than the words. His long and pleasant face seemed as if it had produced instantly from his top hat, as white colored maggots breed from an italian cheese.

The taxi under the strict scrutiny of the police-men, took a U-turn slowly, with a noise like someone is scratching his nails on the wall.

The block of newly built, royal and extravagant apartments in which Lord Edward lived upon the second floor, was situated right opposite to the Flower garden, in a place for several years occupied by the remanents of a frustrate commercial enterprise.
