Life always comes to an end, this is a rule of existence, all life eventually meets its end, the dependent variable is how. Jake who was currently facing his end and was perfectly content with it, seeing that he had existed for one perpous and had nothing else to live for. See, Jake's life revolves around trying to complete a single objective, he had completed this goal. Jake had discovered the technique of splicing a human being into a machine, cybernetics, humans immune to disease, old age, and famine. In his mind, Jake had given humanity a great gift, what humanity did with it was up to them, and he had no reason to stick around and see it through.
This brings use to the present, as Jake is siting in a room, a small device stationed in front of him, that he stares at whilst taking a sip of whiskey. A small digital clock reads 5:00 then 4:59 then 4:58 and so on, Jake grins as he stares at the timer, it was a special type of chemical warfare agent that when released, destroys organic matter, if exposed there would be no possible way to bring the victim back to life. Jake poured himself another glass muttering about his imminent demise, then stopped and chugged the glass.
As time ticked away, Jake looked up at the ceiling whilst sitting in his chair. abruptly there was a his followed by a cloud of black smoke that quickly dissipated, but Jake was already dead, dying faster than his neurons could complete registering pain.
This is just my first time writing in a form that arnt reports or papers, so if anyone reads this I would happily take some criticism.
