Ch4: New Beginning

"Shit! Vermin! "the guard spit towards Dede then the guard walks out. Dede went back inside's Remi's shirt after the guard was a bit far from where they are hidden. Jake seems almost peed himself and he just laugh.

Kara seems that only kid who seems to be calm, he looks AT Jake, "That man..." Jake knitted his eyebrow, "What man?" Kara sigh, "that man that you first killed died a month ago. He died due to a disease." Jake raised his eyebrows and he thought, wait a sec, so it started already? I just hope that I will be able to get stronger when that event comes! Now that I think about, It seems those corpse seems to be experimental. Jake sigh, "It is better that you don't talk about this in public," Rommel widened his eyes," but…but…how will they eradicate them it if we will not talk," Jake faces toward Rommel, " Tell me, how many disappearances cases since last month?" Kara pondered, " I think….about 4. The second one that you killed is the apprentice of Guryu, he is the blacksmith in town." Jake smile, "then tell me, how did it go? Did the guard catches anyone?" Kara and Rommel both looked down. Jake patted both the children's head.

Jake knows one of the entrances towards the Count's Ragner hidden cavern but that would be suicide. There are several zombies acted as guard just the first level. Jake thought that his level is not sufficient enough combined with his shitty origin soul, he will be just walking food in there.

After 2 hours when the night is already deep, Kara and Rommel were tiptoeing towards Remi's house, to avoid any guards. Remi's house is just a few meters opposite ways from where they are located. Kara and Rommel went to the backyard and heard at least 4 controlled voices. I went directly inside and saw their surprised faces. Rommel fainted in front of his parents and Kara just sat down and crying. Remi's father approached and was relieved that his daughter still alive. He carried his daughter to her room and came back with a deep sigh, " I don't know what to say…but what happened?"

There are two parents in here, Parents of Rommel named Roni and Lani and Remi's father name Daryl and the blacksmith Guryu which is the adopted father of Kara. Jake explained to them what happened. Guryu was about to explode due to his anger but Jake was amazed by how he was able to control it. " I was skeptical about it when I first heard it in the tavern but the longer the days that my apprentice is gone the more I thought that he was already dead but to make him a puppet to some dark arts is another story," Guryu voiced is shaking. "I would like to suggest that you keep this matter within your family because we don't know if the head of this town is also the brain of these dark arts that you are talking about." Roni sigh, " I just hope that they will not get revenge, in case they will be reanimated." Jake pondered a bit and said, "It would be best to burn their corpse and I am sorry I can't help you with that because I am not a resident of this town. It would be difficult for me to go inside." Guryu stand up, " Kara let this young one use the upper room next to yours. I will just be going to burn the corpse. Lani, Roni, and Daryl, let just call it a day, at least the children are alive." Then Guryu went out.

I bid my goodbyes to them and suggest that those children should stay in their house for a couple of days which they agreed upon. The location of the Guryo's house is in the central area of the town. It seems that Jake did not meet any town guards. Kara guided Jake towards his room upstairs. The moment Jake's body landed on the bed, even of the bed don't have foam he immediately closes his eyes.

Jake woke up due to the knock, Kara slightly opens the door to peek, " Jake breakfast is ready, dad is looking for you as well." I nodded and went to the side table and Kara place one off white trousers and long sleeves, the sleeves look like "camisa di chino" made up of soft materials. Jake giggle a bit when he realized that he does not have underwear. He went down and saw Guryo and Kara.

Guryo place on the wooden token on the circular dining table, " This is token for your residency, I just bribe some of those guards. You will not get worried to go out if you wanna do some work." I nodded and sat down, " Thank you. I would like to ask if there is an alchemist in here?" Guryo knitted is eyebrow, " We don't really have alchemist in here but next town has. Do you want to be an apprentice or something?" Jake laugh a bit, " Maybe but the main reason it so sold this rabbit trapper incisor. "You can just actually sell it to one of the guilds especially the merchant guild," Guryo advised. Jake pondered a bit and realized that adventurer Guild is just a hall govern by the 5 primary classes which are warrior, mages, clerics, archers, and slayer. Slayer in this game are similar to thieves and assassin. So if one wants to team up with other classes, they will just enrolled themselves in the guild and let the guild look for suitable teammates instead of going to each guild to recruit one. The Merchant Guild is a separate guild because they focus only in selling and buying stuff.

Guryo places a new spear in front of him. Jake knows the name of the spear, It is a mid-mortal spear called boar spear. It has 5-10 piercing damage and 2-5 slashing damage. Jake smile, " Thank You!" Guryo stand up, " Kara clean the table after, and you?" My name is Jake, " Yes Jake! you can use the upper floor for now. I will go now, I still need to finish some orders."

After jake ate his lunch, Jake went to the merchant guild. The guild is two stories made up of dark stones. The inside is quite spacious and homey. One can park at least 10 buses. Jake walk towards the teller and handed them the entire batches of incisors. The teller smile, "that would 20 silvers. Jake smile and thought, few hundreds of incisors but only worth 20 silvers. Jake received the payout and went to the adventurer guil.

"I never we meet again?" coming from a familiar voice then Jake smile and sad at the same time.
