Breakthrough!

Fire Continent, In a forest outside Flame City.

The trees in the forest stretched up high into the sky, almost as if trying to break out of this world and reach greater heights. In this forest there were primarily only Stage 1 demon beasts which were equivalent to a Dao Body Creation cultivators. In the World of Xia, Demon Beasts could also seek immortality.

Currently, there was a stage one Wind Wolf crouching down, hiding behind some bushes. This wolf was about three meters tall, with azure colored fur. It's claws looked more like daggers, while it's teeth were sharper than any mortal sword.

The Wind Wolf was currently stalking its prey. About thirty meters away from the Wind Wolf's hiding place, was a common hog. It was just walking about minding its own business, unaware of the deadly threat to its life.

Right when the Wind Wolf was about to pounce for the kill, the space next to the common hog started to warp. Next, the Wind Wolf saw two human appear before its eyes. One was a female with blue hair, while the other was a small child with white hair. The wolf was confused about how two people could magically appear out of nowhere, but soon it became furious because the hog it had been tracking was scared away by these two humans. With its eyes turning blood red the wolf decided that two humans for dinner would be just as tasty.

Meanwhile, Song Yu was feeling sick to his stomach. Right after he said his goodbyes outside the sect, Snow Angel wrapped him in some energy then ripped open space and jumped inside. He felt like somebody threw his body into a blender and then threw the blender into a whirlpool. It was not an experience that he hoped would happen again anytime soon.

Song Yu looked around at his new surroundings. Other than the trees that were all around the biggest difference was the blazing hot temperature. In the Ice Jade Sect it was freezing all year round.

As Song Yu was admiring his surroundings, he saw that an azure colored wolf was sprinting right towards him and Snow Angel with a blood thirsty look on its face. Instead of feeling scared, Song Yu could not help but feel a little pity for the fate of this wolf. Who told it to attack Snow Angel? Is that not just asking for death.

Snow Angel saw the Wind Wolf leaping towards her. She merely just looked at the wolf which caused its body to be stuck in midair. The Wind Wolf eyes showed a look of confusion, as it thought how, clearly it could not fly earlier today so what is happening now?

Snow Angel snorted in disdain, "Stupid puppy. You scared my Little Brother. Look! Look at that face. He's clearly about to cry from fear!" As she pointed at the nonchalant Song Yu.

Song Yu could only sigh to himself. If you want to mess with the poor wolf thats fine but why put the blame on me? I'm clearing just standing here.

Snow Angel snapped her fingers which caused the wolf to instantly vanish. She turned to look at Song Yu, "You can stop crying now Little Brother. Big Sister sent the bad puppy away!"

Song Yu just shook his head as he secretly sent a prayer out to that poor wolf. Who knows what horrible place it was sent to.

Snow Angel put a cute smile back on her face as she caused her and Song Yu to land on the ground, "Little Brother I used my supreme powers, and brought us to the Fire Continent. Pretty powerful huh?"

Song Yu was actually shocked inside. The Ice Jade Sect was located in the Ice Continent and she brought us to a whole new continent that easily? Of course, Song Yu would never give her the satisfaction of seeing him awed by her power, "Sister, honestly it took us so long to get here. Maybe try a little harder next time. By the way, why did we come to the Fire Continent when I'm just starting my cultivation. There's barely any Ice Heavenly Energy here. Did you go to the wrong place?"

Snow Angel felt aggrieved, one day she would show this brat her power, then he'll cry. She started laughing evilly in her mind.

She looked at Song Yu with disdain as if asking such a question was wasting her time, "And here I thought you were a genius.. The Ice Heavenly Energy is indeed abundant in the Ice Continent. However, because it is too abundant it is also mixed with impure ice energy. The people who start cultivating there might be faster at first but then eventually they will fail to breakthrough because of an impure foundation. It is different here in the Fire Continent, because the Fire Heavenly Energy purifies the Ice Heavenly Energy making it extremely pure. Of course there is downsides to everything. Because Ice Heavenly Energy is so scarce here your cultivation will be slower." Snow Angel looked proud of herself. She was expecting Song Yu to show a look of awe on his face. Maybe get on his knees and thank her for such divine knowledge.

Unfortunately, Song Yu had a calm face and nodded his head, "I guess that does sound like common knowledge."

Snow Angel was grinding her teeth trying to calm her anger, "Little Brat! What do you know!?! This is one of my own secrets! How could this be your so called common knowledge humph!" Song Yu smiled evilly in his mind, while wearing an innocent look on his face, "Sister this Brother wonders what our next step is? Can I start cultivating now?" As much fun as it was to mess with Snow Angel, Song Yu was even more impatient to start cultivating. I mean he has been waiting five years for this day.

Snow Angel was distracted from her anger as she put on a serious face, "Little Brother, You can never rush cultivating. You must take it one step at a time. We're gonna stay in this forest for a while so lets go find a river, then build a house to live in."

After that she started walking away from Song Yu, picking a random direction to walk in. Song Yu used his tiny legs to catch up to her. After walking for around two hours, Song Yu was dead tired. He currently only had a mortal body, so it was already a miracle that a five year old could walk so far. Right when he was about to discard his honor and beg for Snow Angel to carry him, the breeze carried the sound of rushing water to his ears. Pushing himself and forcing out that hidden potential within his body, he walked through a clearing in the trees to see a river appear before his eyes. He wobbled with his tiny legs to reach the river, then started to drink away.

After his fill of water, he was about to lay down and relax when Snow Angel yelled, "Stop! Now with your body being so tired, it is the best time to start to cultivate. This is because in the Dao Body Creation realm you are training your body to better harness the Dao. I want you to sit cross legged running your cultivation manual, while sensing the Ice Heavenly Energy in the air. Next you must absorb it into your skin to create the Dao Skin."

Hearing her instructions, Song Yu got excited, as he sat down cross legged on the ground. Calming his mind he started to run the Extreme Ice Jade Manual. Once it started to run he could sense the scarce Ice Heavenly Energy in his surroundings. They looked like little snowflakes floating in the air. He tried to use his mind to latch onto these tiny particles and pull them into his body. He grabbed one and forced it to enter into his skin. Once it touched his skin it was absorbed creating an icy but relaxing feeling. Song Yu frowned slightly, if he continued things this way, wouldn't it take forever to reach completion of the Dao Skin stage?

Feeling Song Yu's frustration, Little Birds voice appeared in his mind, "Master, Little bird noticed that you are unhappy with the efficiency of absorbing the energy. Would you like Little Bird to absorb the energy for you?" Song Yu was pretty happy, with Little Birds help, maybe he could cultivate a little faster with her help. "Little Bird, go ahead!" Said Song Yu.

Snow Angel was leisurely sitting by the river observing Song Yu attempt to cultivate. She pulled an apple out of her storage ring along with a little knife and started to peal the apple humming a little tune. She saw that Song Yu was able to draw some Ice Heavenly Energy into his body, and she nodded her head in approval. "It turns out he really was a genius for being successful on his first try." She thought to herself.

After pealing the apple she sliced a piece off and was about to put it in her mouth. Her hand froze as she felt that the energy in the air started to act peculiar. The Ice Heavenly Energy started to rush towards the sitting Song Yu creating a funnel above his head. It rushed into the little boys body at an uncontrollable speed.

The apple slice dropped from the Snow Angels hand as her jaw dropped in shock. She could not understand what was going on. One moment everything was going how she expected and then the next he was sucking away at the energy like a whale!?!

The energy continued to pour into Song Yu's body. Even he could not help but feel shocked at his current circumstances. He hurriedly cleared his mind of distracting thoughts and focused on directing the Ice Heavenly Energy into his skin. His skin felt like it could never be satisfied.

This continued for around thirty minutes until he started to finally feel bloated, it felt as if he was a balloon about to pop.

Song Yu had no definite answer to what was happening, but he had the feeling that he was at the peak of the Dao Skin stage and needed one last push to breakthrough! The Dao Muscle was the next stage in the Dao Body Creation realm, so he figured that the best way to breakthrough would be to break the barrier that prevents the Ice Heavenly Energy from entering his muscles.

Song Yu took a deep breath, as he directed the energy that could no longer be absorbed by the skin towards the barrier. The energy collided with the barrier. Song Yu felt the energy rebound back which caused him to feel dizzy and made his skin feel like it was about to rip apart.

A new idea popped into Song Yu's mind. He took the extra energy in his skin and compressed it into the shape of a needle. Hoping for the best he threw this needle at the barrier. He heard a 'crack' sound in his body like the sound of a bottle breaking!

Little Bird stopped absorbing the Ice Heavenly Energy and then said, "Congratulations Master! You have completed the Dao Skin stage!!"

Song Yu exhaled a breath of foul air and opened his eyes. The first thing he saw was Snow Angels angry face, then her leg kicked out, hitting his chest, making him fly into the river. He could not help but scream like a little girl as he landed in the water.

Snow Angel put her hands on her hips and said, "Don't you know proper hygiene? Look at yourself. Your all gross and stinky. You ruined my meal with your god awful smell. You better apologize you freak of nature."

Standing in the river, Song Yu looked down at his body. Seeing the pungent black liquid that was secreted from his skin he could not help but scrunch up his nose. He really did stink. But honestly it was too much to be kicked into the river right? And apologize, you wish!

"You're just jealous" Mumbled Song Yu.
