When she's still in her mother's womb, her parents are already planning to give her for adoption. Her mother delivered the baby, when her parents already knows that she is a girl, they'd taken back their plan of giving her to the doctor who is supposed to adopt her. Her life is simple, but being a daughter of her parents and being part of her family she needs to struggle and beg for their parental affection. From her childhood to adulthood is tough, being depressed throughout her life she never stop fighting even at times where she tried to kill herself. Being alive leads to self exploration. Knowing yourself more than what you are already know of who you are.
"Stop it. I said stop it. It hurts, stop beating me . I give up." she keeps on screaming while trying to protect herself from her maternal cousins. She was crying but it doesn't help her at all. Nobody stands up for her or help her while she is being beaten up.
Her cousins are bullies, when her brothers and parents are around they behave themselves but when she is alone they beat her up. When she tried to tell her family what their cousins are doing to her nobody believes her except her second brother. Her second brother is just like her, doesn't want to socialize much.
While she is being beaten up, her mother shows up, she yells at those cousins of hers but didn't probe further. Her reasons, simply because she's still alive after being beaten up.
Instead of helping her daughter, Mae just shrugged what she just saw and shouts at her saying " get up already, they're gone. Clean yourself and your wounds, it won't kill you."
" ok" Aline replied meekly while tears are rolling down through her cheeks. Aline is a simple person ,never been wanted by her mother for an unknown reasons.
After getting up, she went back to their house and cleans herself up, applied some ointment and medicines to her wounds from the beatings of her cousins. While she's crying and attending to her wounds, her first and second brother came to her room. Watching her struggling to apply some medicine to her wounds, her second brother came near to her and took the medicine and help her with her wounds.
" What have you done again this time that you are beaten badly? " Ken, first brother, shouted at her without any intention of listening to her explanation. " You always cause trouble, and now your acting pity because your beaten up by our cousins. You deserve it. Our parents doesn't like you at all, but still they allow you to live with us. you're a shame to our family." after saying those words he left slamming the bedroom door
Aline was hurt. She keeps on crying silently while her second brother Alvin is comforting her by staying silent besides her. She really feels she doesn't belong to her own family. She still remembers when her mother told her that when she's still in her womb, her father denies her, that she is not her daughter but other man's child. Her parents already decided to give her for adoption to her distant relatives which is a doctor. When her mother gave birth to her, and upon knowing that she is a girl they refused to give her for adoption.
