(Slightly more than quick note: I added the info on Dabilosi's NPC on the stats page. He seems OP but dragons normally are. However, if you think about it, wouldn't it cost a pretty penny to create an NPC of that caliber, I mean come on it took 500 million gold just to revive shalltear, so think of the cost for CREATING her, and then consider that dragons are hundreds of times larger in size and you realize that coffers as big as Texas probably couldn't hold the necessary gold for creating a level 100 dragon NPC. Also since stats, at least as far as I can tell, seem to take into account armour and I believe it would be reasonable to presume Dabilosi would outfit his personal NPC with the best he could find, in the end I don't think it's too unbelievable. Also, about the illusions, I would have thought that in Yggdrasil they would have a mechanic prevent spells like that within a certain radius of guild bases, and there wouldn't be any need for the NPCs to know them.)
Ok so now that we're in the throne room we can speak freely.
Dabilosi: Well that was scary.
Momonga: Tell me something I didn't already know.
Dabilosi: I'm going to that village Sebas was talking about.
Momonga: Oka- wait what?! No that's not, your not, I mean... We don't know nearly enough about this world yet to do stuff like that.
Dabilosi: Oh please, you heard what he said, the highest level he found was 10, and even if they were level 100 I refuse to believe I would be discovered. I can set up triggers around the area as well so if something I can't handle turns up I'll just pop straight back. I can also scout ahead with things like [Mirror of remote viewing]. Also, let's face it. If something we seriously can't handle appears that easily, this entire world is probably out of our league, and holing up permanently would be the most logical course of action. At that point I would be glad I died out in the field because as nice as Nazarick is, I don't think I could stay within it's confines forever, and considering I'm a fallen angel now, it really would be forever.
Momonga: 'Sigh' I would prefer it if you weren't quite so fatalistic. But I wouldn't be able to stop you if I tried would I?
Dabilosi: Nope! Thinking on it I need to go check on Xygat first, you guys sealed him on floor five because he was, and I quote, 'A hazard to any and all denizens of Nazarick'. Maybe it wasn't the best idea to have him be a paladin or a Holy Dragon but it fit so well with my battle style!
Momonga: He was more dangerous to us than the enemy in a fight, and try not to die would you.
Dabilosi: I invoke the fifth amendment, and me, die? You wish.
Momonga: We aren't American, and even if we were that's basically admitting you did something wrong.
Dabilosi: ...I... Go get changed, [Create Greater Item] can help towards that end, and get some fresh air while you can, I'll either be talking to Mare or still on the fifth floor. B-ye.
I did nothing wrong. I will stand by that until the end of time.
-----6th floor colosseum, POV: Narrator-----
Mare: Th-That was scary Nee-san.
(A.N: Sometimes japanese just sits better. In situations like this, I will not hesitate to use it.)
Aura: Yeh, it was like they could see what we were thinking through that massive pressure.
Demiurge: As expected of the supreme beings, to be able to test us with their mere presence.
Cocytus: The. Supreme. Beings. Were. Testing. Our. Resolve. After. We. Pledged. Our. Loyalty.
Albedo: It does seem like that.
Aura: They didn't act like that when it was just us. Momonga gave us a glass of water when we were thirsty and Dabilosi even gave us an item of his which he only has a limited number of.
Mare: Th-That must be the true power of the supreme beings, showing their absolute authority in response of our feelings, and the kind masters who didn't leave!
Mare seemed over-enthusiastic and flustered while saying that. Why? Well, considering most of those present looked like they were on the verge of violence, due in its entirety to intense jealousy over the siblings' good treatment, I don't really think it's that unreasonable. It seemed to work, as the atmosphere immediately changed to one of realization and delight.
Sebas: Then, I will take my leave first, I know not where the supreme beings are, but I should stay by their side.
Albedo then spoke at some length about how anything to do with Momonga should be reported to her. Not as much as she liked, as Sebas smoothly interrupted without too much problem and walked briskly away.
Demiurge: It seems very quiet at the moment. Shalltear, is something the matter.
Cocytus: What. Happened.
Shalltear: I... after being exposed to the supreme beings powerful presence, I could not help getting excited... My underwear seems to have gone through a bit of a crisis.
(A.N: Ok kids, so here's what that means ----)
Albedo: You slut.
Shalltear: Eh? Them blessing us with their energy is a reward! Anyone who doesn't get wet from that has something wrong with their head.
Albedo: Lord Momonga's greatness is wasted on you.
Shalltear: You can keep up your fruitless efforts for Lord Momonga as long as you like. Lord Dabilosi is far more beautiful and unlike you and Lord Momonga, I actually have a chance.
Albedo: You lamprey! I'm closer to Lord Momonga every day than you ever will be to Lord Dabilosi.
Intellectual debates brought to you by Albedo and Shalltear.
Demiurge: Aura, matters between women should be settle by a women. Let me know if they start properly fighting and I will step in but until then--
Aura: Really, do they have to argue over this?
Demiurge: Personally, I would be quite interested in the result.
Aura: What do you mean by 'result'?
After Demiurge gave a satisfactory response, Aura begrudgingly went to sort out the other argument.
Demiurge then went onto convince Mare to consent to having children without even telling him how to do it. At which point the 'argument' between Albedo and Shalltear had stopped and they agreed not to interfere with each other's advances.
Albedo: All right, let's move on. Mare, as mentioned by Lord Dabilosi you need to create hills and... cover, the walls of Nazarick... with dirt. Shalltear and Cocytus, prepare for the possibility of an invasion. Aura, take a number of our individuals with stealth skills and do some reconnaissance in the wide forest, but take every precaution, we don't know the strength of the people in this world yet. Also take a number of message scrolls so you can report back. Demiurge, check if everything functions as it should. This is a new world, we have no idea what has or hasn't been affected. I will inform Victim and the area guardians of the fourth floor of the situation, and then write up report of the situation, with additions as and when necessary.
-----5th floor of Nazarick, Frozen Prison-----
Ah, the frozen prison, where the nutters and enemies of Nazarick are kept. And Xygat. But then again depending on your definition he might come under the latter category as well... Huh.
Please lord grant me pardon, peace and sanity while I'm in the room of truth, thank you. When the others decided to lock Xygat away they chose a prime spot in the room of truth. Now I'm seriously wondering whether or not I should have allowed it... Saying I dislike neuronist is a severe understatement.
Dabilosi: Hello Neuronist. I've come to release Xygat.
Neuronist: Ohhh! If it isn't Lord Dabilosi! Would you like to help me with a few new torture methods?
Dabilosi: No, but I will be leaving for a while after collecting Xygat so I can bring you back a few specimens. Now please melt his chamber and leave me be so I can talk to him in peace.
Anything to get her away. I'm so disgusted I can't even shiver. I might have been slightly rude but I couldn't care less right now.
Neuronist: Oh, just come back to me quickly darling!
I've said I'll give you specimens, I'll give you specimens. What more do you want from me
... Lady? Anyway, releasing him took far longer than I expected, probably because she's only level 23, but Xygat seems slightly dazed. Most likely just because he never gets surprised and is wondering what's going on.
Xygat: Why, my lord?
Ah.
Dabilosi: Because I require your services.
Xygat: Ok.
Yes I forgot. He always says the bare minimum. It's a trait that tends to brutally murder attempts at conversation.
Dabilosi: I will be leaving Nazarick for a short while to see the average strength of the people in this world. I would like to take you with me as added protection. Is that ok with you?
Xygat: I am happy.
What does that mean?! Does it mean he'll put up with it because he's happy or is he genuinely willing to go. I hope it's the second one, but I'm not going to ask anymore because this is just too awkward... There's no point beating around the bush with this guy.
Dabilosi: Alright, let's go! Oh and here's a ring of Ainz Ooal Gown. Don't try and refuse it because I am not taking no for an answer...
Xygat: Then, thank you very much my lord.
Dabilosi: Yeh yeh, let's get to the central mausoleum.
The ring is just too good honestly. I took a bit too long thanks to the releasing process so it's unlikely that I will be able to get out without being stopped at least once, but since I have Xygat with me they shouldn't force me to have any other accompaniment. Anyway as always the scenery just instantaneously switches, confounding the connection between my eyes and my brain aaand not only is Albedo here, Demiurge's evil lords of wrath, envy(1) and greed. So not even a chance at leaving stealthily. They look at me incredulously for a second. Then Xygat arrives, and that's when all hell breaks loose.
(A.N: It's actually supposed to be jealousy in regards to lust, but I thought jealousy just worked better with envy, plus Dabilosi is the sin of lust so...)
Albedo: What are you doing here! Lord Dabilosi get away from him!
The evil lords quickly change to a battle stance and idly I wonder just how paranoid they are about an invasion.
Dabilosi: Relax. I let him out. He isn't going to harm anyone... In Nazarick at least.
Albedo: Whatever do you mean Lord Dabilosi?
Dabilosi: I'm thinking of going to check out the village Sebas found. I'm not too fond of paperwork or management and I can keep in touch with Momonga via [Message] so you won't even notice I'm gone. Even if you want to drag me back in now I still need to set up the illusions and, lets face it. I'm probably the most suited to reconnaissance in human territory out of the entirety of Nazarick.
Albedo: Be that as it may we can't afford to lose you as one of the last two supreme beings.
Dabilosi: Would you feel better about it if I took my full set of Divine gear? Remember - one of my abilities is [Quick Change]. If even that isn't enough to convince you, I'm bringing Xygat with me. Rest assured I am taking every precaution... Even if I don't believe anything will come up. If you're torn between decisions, don't make one and by the time you come to a conclusion I'll be gone. Anyway, why did you come here in the first place?
I still got it. Seemingly ending one conversation to start another when in reality I have no more excuses.
Albedo: Very well Lord Dabilosi. Ah yes, the three here said Demiurge accompanied a 'Dark Warrior'. Demiurge would never follow a lowly servant. Could it be that they dare to deceive me?
Ok, first off, that was said gently so it turned out really creepily. Second off, Dark Warrior? Really Bones? You couldn't think of anything else? But uh, it's obvious the three of them weren't lying by their concerned faces not knowing how to explain themselves, and Albedo will probably beat it out of them if I agree or reply noncommittally, maybe even killing them for insubordination. Not good.
Dabilosi: Albedo, I highly doubt the evil lords would even attempt to deceive you even if they were given orders from Demiurge, so now that we have confirmed that they're telling the truth, think about it logically and stay calm.
Albedo: .....Lord Momonga was here!
Dabilosi: Yes, however he won't be out for long so if you want to talk to him you should hurry.
Albedo: I couldn't possibly go and see him with these blemishes on my appearance.
Dabilosi: Can you not? If he sees you without any appearances of working he may think that you've done nothing yourself. Let me tell you something. He doesn't look so much at outward appearances as actions and openness.
Albedo: Do you really think Lord Momonga will approve of seeing me dirtied like this?
Dabilosi: I have given you the facts, whether you act on them or not is your choice, and yours alone. If there is nothing else, I will be seeing Mare now.
I am just a wellspring of sage advice today aren't I? Besides that they moved out of the way and, even if I couldn't see Mare, I could definitely hear the vast tides of land being shifted to better fit the walls. It doesn't take a genius to work out that if you head in the direction of the sounds you'll find the culprit. [Mass Fly] is all I need to get Xygat and I on top of the wall.
Dabilosi: Hey Mare!
Mare: Ahhh! L-Lord D-Dabilosi!
Dabilosi: Sorry if I startled you, I was just wondering what kind of illusion would be best for hiding Nazarick. Should I anchor [Widen Magic: Misdirection] or [Widen Magic: Fake Reality]? I believe that [Misdirection] would be better because those caught inside would avoid Nazarick without noticing a think, whereas with [Fake Reality], it would look as though there was a top on Nazarick, anyone passing the area would go straight through it. On the other hand, if the people in this world are high enough levelled, they would notice the misdirection much more easily than the fake hilltop. Sorry if I talked too much, what do you think?
Mare: I... Uh... I-I think, i-if Sebas-san said the strongest in a village was about ten, we shouldn't have too much of a problem with using [Misdirection] a-as long as the range isn't too much... But I think we should start with [Fake Reality], w-we can always do [Misdirection] on top of it, but doing [Fake Reality] after [Misdirection] would look suspicious...
Dabilosi: There is that... It would make everything so much easier if it didn't take so long to integrate multiple fields but it is what it is, I'll do that then.
Thankfully after the magic is cast the caster does not need to stay in the vicinity, because standing around for 48 hours of 'technical difficulties', as Yggdrasil so lovingly phrased it, is not my idea of interesting.
Dabilosi: One last thing before I leave Mare, I'm going to give you the ring of Ainz Ooal Gown. It's seriously inconvenient to have the floor guardians unable to travel in-between floors so just take it. Don't expect this to be a regular occurrence but if I think anything deserves a reward or will make the guardians jobs easier I'll do it. Just don't misplace it under ANY circumstances. Bye!
I throw it over to him because he'd probably try and refuse if I handed it to him, set up the spell on top of the center mausoleum, and run off the wall down the newly creating earthen slope in the direction of Sebas' noob village pondering idly what the villagers will do when I have to pay neuronist.
Thought I was going to get to Carne Village this chapter. I was wrong.
