Con slammed his fist lightly into his other hand. "I got it!" Don and June looked at him with surprised expressions.
"You got what?" They both asked at the same time. Con smiled smugly and put crossed his arms to add a dramatic pause before his answer. Both June and Don got annoyed when they saw Con do this. Don slowly drew his sword while June got her bow and aimed it at Con. Con immediately stopped posing and raised his hands up in surrender.
"I'll tell i'll tell!" Don and June smiled as they sheathed their weapons and looked at Con expectantly.
"The reason why he walks like that is probably because he hurt his back which made him walk like that?" June felt a little bad for Keres but got happy when she thought of the possibility that he was around her age. Don continued to be in deep thought.
Don looked at his companions and said with a solemn tone. "Young with an injury or a old man using magic. Either way hes a monster so if we see him next time we should try to be friends." Both Con and June agreed fervently while a voice spoke out from behind them.
"You know its not nice to call a person a monster behind their backs." The trio froze and turned around to see Keres whose weapons and armor were bloodstained smiling at them. Don, Con, and June immediately cow towed. With tears in their eyes they apologized and also asked for forgiveness. The trios actions brought a smile to Keres face. He also didn't expect them to be so scared of him.
"Calm down it's alright. I honestly didn't mean to scare you. My name is Keres whats yours?" Keres helped the group get up. The trio were surprised that Keres was friendly and not mad at them. They introduced themselves. Keres noticed that the young woman known as June blushed when she looked at him. And couldn't help but thought 'I'm just that handsome hehe'.
"This is my first time in the Dungeon. So do you guys wan-" Keres was cut off by the shouts of the trio.
"WHAAT?!?!" The three exclaimed. Don was the first to recover from his shock. "How old are you Keres?" The other two especially June looked at Keres expectantly. Keres could see the burning passion within Junes eyes.
"I'm thirteen." Keres knew that all adventurers started young and began in the upper floors. So he was a bit surprised when he saw their reactions. Keres could see the burning passion within Junes eyes.
(Oh man should probably keep my distance away from her haha.)
"Where did you learn how to fight like that?" June asked while the twins nodded. Keres began to reminisce. He thought of that old hag and those few years she tortured him with her training. Along with teaching him about the eight fold path and the four noble truths. The trio saw that Keres gaze looked distant. June mustered up her courage to wave her hand in front of Keres face. Keres snapped out of his memories and smiled.
"Sorry was just remembering my master."
The trio were excited to hear that he had a master. Con was the first to ask what they others were thinking.
"Is your master accepting any more students?"
Keres ruefully grinned at their enthusiasm. If they only knew how torturous her training was they wouldn't be so eager to learn from her. "Sorry to disappoint you guys but she passed away recently." Seeing their disappointed and saddened expressions Keres couldn't help but think. 'How the hell am I supposed to bring you to my master on earth?'
Don clasped Keres shoulders up after he and his companions gave their condolences. "Do you want to group up with us?" June and Con grew excited at the possibility of Keres joining them. As they knew they will be much safer with him around. Keres originally wanted to group with them either way so he agreed.
"What level are you guys and what can you do?" Keres wanted to figure out their skills so they can coordinate better together.
They all revealed they were level two. Don and Con acted as the front line. With Done wielding a sword and board. He had a skill that made him move faster when attempting to block strikes. While Con used a hand and a half sword in his left hand while wielding a dagger in the other. He had a skill that allowed him to counteract after successfully parrying an attack. June used a bow and had the magical ability of enchanting object with the elemental properties. However she can only enchant one object at a time because of this she generally enchants her arrows.
"How deep have you guys gone into the dungeon?"
Don answered for the trio. "We were heading into the middle floors to get some experience but then we heard your fight."
(Good thing I didn't use my storage magic.)
"Alright to the middle floors we go then." Keres let them take the lead as they made their way to the middle floors. The party easily decimated the groups of monsters they encountered on their way to the middle floors. While traveling Keres found out they belonged to the Loki familia and have been adventurers for the past two years. The only area that gave the group a bit of trouble was the tenth through twelfth floors as the mist produced in those areas impeded their vision. During the times when they encountered no monsters. June used it to get to know Keres better.
"How come you came down alone?"
"I planned to stay in the upper floors until you guys came along."
"Why do you want to head deeper into the dungeon?"
"Well I want to see new and interesting things."
"Do you ever plan to stop adventuring?" June said this with a bit of a hopeful look in her eyes.
Keres doubted he was allowed to reincarnate again when his time to die again came. However the idea of settling down in this world didn't catch much interest from him. After thinking about this in silence for a minute or two. June just waited patiently for his answer.
"Honestly I have no desire to ever stop adventuring unless I had seen all I could see."
When June heard she felt disappointed. As this effectively meant to her that Keres was not planning to settle down anytime soon. Though her flames of passion were not defeated by his answer.
"What do you plan to do with all the money you will earn?" June hoped to glean some information on his background or family from this question.
"Well spend it." Keres answered immediately.
This stumped June and brought a smile to the twins faces. As they watched their companion fail in her quasi-interrogation. Though she gritted her teeth and pressed on.
"No family or loved ones?"
"Ah. No its just me."
The trio felt sad hearing that Keres had no family, offered their condolences, and became quiet until they reached the thirteenth floor. Don turned around to the group and had a solemn look on his face.
"Alright my friends. Stick together and be safe. We get a few kills and we leave sounds good?" Keres and the rest nodded as they began their descent into the dungeon.
