Little Merchant Ship

Daedalus' time in the little town was enjoyable and he felt sad about leaving, however he was dead set on exploring the world and finding out why it was so similar yet so different. So with a farewell to the gathered people, including the fishermen he had made friends with and the kind doctor who had helped him, Daedalus waved and set sail to the east.

Daedalus had been given a map by one of the fishermen and told that he should see about getting to a larger town to the east. From their conversations Daedalus had learned that the town focused more on ship building and merchants for their food and livelihood.

It didn't take long for Daedalus to realise the sheer distance between him and the town, the journey was set to take two months. Luckily this spurred Daedalus to start working on some merchandise so that he could actually seel things when he arrived.

As such the first month was spent collecting materials, either through fishing or diving in search of stones on the sea floor. It was a good thing Daedalus always came prepared as he had plenty of string, wood and other materials to help him make things.

With the materials gathered Daedalus began making small trinkets to sell in whatever market he could find when he arrived.

Two months passed fairly quickly as he spent his time making trinkets and making sure he was going the right direction. Even so, when he arrived at the town he was ecstatic to finally be there. Before setting up shop Daedalus decided to just enjoy the town for the first day.

The first thing he did was ask around about interesting places or good places for food. When that was done Daedalus visited a small cafe that had been recommended to him. Soon after he finished his drink Daedalus began walking around and visiting sites of interest.

A few hours later Daedalus found himself back at his boat. Smiling Daedalus got inside and began preparing for opening up shop. He had of course spent an hour reading through how these sorts of things where done, it was practically identical to the little island he had left.

The next morning Daedalus opened shop and waited for his first customer. While he did so he spent his time making new trinkets to sell.

It took a while but someone did eventually get curious and come in. It was a woman who looked to be in her fifties. Daedalus observed her quietly while he continued working on a more detailed piece of jewelry.

The woman seemed happy to just browse for the time being and Daedalus enjoyed the atmosphere so he didn't bother her. The sound of waves hitting the ship and the quiet chatter of people outside was quite calming to Daedalus and he felt it added a nice ambience.

Fifteen or so minutes later the woman walked over to Daedalus and asked "I take it you are the merchant?"

Daedalus nodded and said "I am also the craftsman."

The lady nodded and handed him a piece of jewelry before saying "I would like to purchase this."

Daedalus smiled and said "Two silver for that one, I made that one just over a week ago when I saw a large fish jump out of the sea."

The woman smiled and asked "Do they all have stories?"

Daedalus nodded and as she left he bid her farewell.

I think I will be going on hiatus for a while my inspiration has disappeared for this book, I don't think forcing you to read mediocre chapters is fair. I have ideas for other books but I want to focus on finishing college right now.

I hope you enjoyed the chapter thanks for reading!!!
