Chapter 2

"Incident?" He gave me his most expected skeptical look as if I spoke something that must be kept as a secretive mission.

"Yeah?" I gave him a curious nod.

"You mean like an accident that happened last week."

I interrupted, realizing it was my queue go for the final strike. "Yeah, about last week. What exactly happened? I just heard the few rumors that someone had been a shot."

"That was no wound from a gun, honey." He chuckled and he whispered. "It was a lion. I can assure you."

"Do you have a proof?" I asked him, but in a teasing tone, so he wouldn't be too suspicious about my true intentions.

"I have been working here for a very long time. I don't need proof. I know instantly what is going on around here." He hesitated to speak as he saw my blank expression. "My friend, who worked at that department told me, they had some loose in security that night. And you know how kids are, they are always running for the trouble."

"What do you mean by when you said there was loose in security?" I asked him, curiously.

"I don't really know. You have to ask someone else's." Then, there it was - his irritating attitude. I hated when our witness thought better to stay quiet than being a evidence in a crime scene. They never understood how important it was to cooperate with one other to do a good deed for once in a lifetime.

"Alright, Thank you." I still showed him the appreciation for wasting his precious time in this crappy bar.

For being such a fine gentleman for sharing some information with me and out of my kindness, I tipped him real good. He was obviously being a jerk but I didn't truly mind his unpleasant behavior. In this field, I had to face those people a lot. They were less cooperative when there would be an actual murder of innocent being.

On the way back to the gambling table, I didn't think much about the mission we came to solve. The investigation could wait. We had a plenty of time to solve the mystery behind the death of twelve years old kid, which was happened last week. But Scott? It might be better if I chase him out that table. It was likely that he was going to spend all his saving tonight in exchange for fun.

"Finally." Scott groaned at me like an alcoholic.

I handed him a glass of vodka. "At least, say thank you?"

"We are a married couple and I don't owe you anything. You had my drink earlier. Just think of it as a payback." Even he spoke to me, his gazed were still on the cards on the table and at his gambling colleagues, who hadn't look very friendly to spend a fine evening together. So, I left Scott to his destruction as he had happily brought himself on the path that he was going to regret it very soon.

I glanced around the room to entrained myself on my own. Little distance away, I saw a store that sells those stuffed animals and cosmetic stuff. Without overthinking that what other might would think of me, I decided to have a look at it. It really wouldn't hurt to walk and be a child for once in a lifetime.

I excused myself from the table and headed out to the store. The store was crowded, and it had the items that I would have given my entire saving to purchase them. I was extremely - truly fond of stuffed dogs, cats, and teddy bears.

In the middle of the store, there was a huge fish tank. I recognized goldfish immediately and a rainbowfish. There were some angelfish, but I didn't really have the tenderness for fish, so I let it be.

In less than a half an hour, I had purchased five stuffed dogs, two cats, and three big teddy bears. Leaving my name and phone number to the cashier at the counter, I decided to pick them up later. I still had sightseeing to do, and I wasn't yet ready to return to my room.

As I was starting to feel little dizzy from the drink I had it earlier, I excused myself to the ladies bathroom. In my body, alcohol always seemed to have an effect after an hour of consuming it. And my primary doctor had no clue about where to pinpoint the problem. My health condition was absolutely a heaven. Since I kept myself busy with exercising and I could never have unhealthy meals, I began to doubt my ability to be a normal human.
