His Mothers Piety

Feng Zhengyi was subtly afraid about what she had asked Rong Yue Wan to do. She knew the consequences of their actions. If anything went wrong, Kang Jun would break and he would break everyone and anyone involved in the process, without care.

This was a horrible thing to do but Feng Zhengyi knew that Kang Jun wouldn't have any shame but to do it.

The though made the woman shiver but for some reason, at the back of her mind; she thought that that was okay. If Kang Jun went on a rampage, so be it. She'd rather have him angry than weak. And weak was what Feng Zhengyi believed Lu AnLing made Kang Jun.

Either way, Lu AnLing was just a mere woman. Kang Jun could find another, maybe several, if it suited him but Feng Zhengyi hoped not. A spouse brought nothing but trouble, and her favoured Kang Jun needed to live a life without such things.

In the old woman's mind, whatever happened to Lu AnLing, whether she left Kang Jun by her own will after her life was threatened or not, it didn't matter. As long as Lu AnLing disappeared from Kang Jun's life, that was all Feng Zhengyi wanted.

Feng Zhengyi would be glad to get rid of such an eyesore.

Getting out of her room and heading downstairs, Feng Zhengyi searched for her son. Kang Mu had not been around the house for a while, but Mo Ruyi, as if watching Feng Zhengyi's actions like a hawk, had always been home. This was something Feng Zhengyi felt awkward about. She was a bit worried that Mo Ruyi had found out about what she planned to do but she wouldn't mention it unless she was with her son.

Seeing Kang Mu in the kitchen, Feng Zhengyi walked over to him and said, "Son."

Hearing this, Kang Mu who had been relaxed all by his lonesome jumped slightly and he then turned around.

"Yes, mother?" Kang Mu said calmly despite his heart palpitating in his chest.

"Ruyi... does she find me suspicious? She's always with me. It's like she's sticking to me on purpose! Did I do something wrong?" Feng Zhengyi said sternly. The woman didn't like acting weak, and so, as she whined, she made sure to still sound in control.

Hearing the way his mother was speaking, Kang Mu frowned slightly.

"No mother,..." Kang Mu said a bit awkwardly as he ran his hand through his hair. "The servants have been a bit... afraid of you. They don't quite enjoy being alone with you and so my cute Ruyi decided to make it easier for everyone."

This was a half lie. Mo Ruyi was acting strange. Kang Mu had noticed this, but he didn't question her. Out of everyone in his life, Mo Ruyi was someone who Kang Mu trusted without question. She had done so much for him that it was the least he felt he could do for her and so, whatever her intentions were, Kang Mu had decided to support her silently.

Little did the man know that Mo Ruyi had heard a conversation between Rong Yue Wan and Feng Zhengyi, which impacted the whole of the Kang family.

Kang Mu, like any son, believed in his mother's piety, deep down in her heart, but at the same time, he knew that his mother wasn't very nice... everyone knew this.

Hearing Kang Mu's reply, Feng Zhengyi was not satisfied but she had no choice but to accept the reasoning. It was not farfetched, after all.

The only problem was that this stunted Feng Zhengyi's ability to contact Rong Yue Wan. And without instruction, Rong Yue Wan was free to do whatever she wanted.

This thought worried Feng Zhengyi slightly, but in the end, it was good. No matter what happened to Lu AnLing, This would make it much easier to claim innocence if Rong Yue Wan's scheme was found it.

It wasn't like Feng Xhengyi had never truly, physically involved herself...

This was a good way to wash her hands clean of the situation.

A strange expression momentarily washed over Feng Zhengyi's face. This was such a clear expression, that Kang Mu, who was fairly slow, was able to notice it at first glance.

And it made his heart stop.

With just that one face, Kang Mu felt afraid.

The last time the woman had had that face, he had heard that one of the maids close to his father, Li Jing, had gone missing...

After Lu AnLing had forgiven Tang Yiling, Tang Yiling did not know whether or not she was allowed to stay at the Kang manor longer. So she didn't. She had first planned on going back to Ning Jie's but Elder Tang said,

"Go back home. I don't trust Luoyi being home alone."

Hearing this, Tang Luoyi frowned but he didn't complain.

In little to no time, the two had left for the Tang Mansion.

Looking at Elder Tang's face, which contained a faraway look, Lu AnLing said, "You know, you can go with them if you want."

Hearing this, Elder Tang shook his head. "No. It isn't necessary. I'll be able to see them every day. You, on the other hand, I won't be able to see..."

Saying this, Lu AnLing had expected that the old man would look sad but instead, he looked tense. Lu AnLing was confused by this look, but Kang Jun understood it well.

The old man's grandfatherly instincts had been activated at the thought of someone being after Lu AnLing's life and he internally vowed that no one would be able to touch her.

Seeing this, Kang Jun internally smiled before he held Lu AnLing by the waist.

If either Kang Jun or Elder Tang knew what Feng Xhengyi and Rong Yue Wan had planned, the both of them would have been dead already, but sadly for them, they had to wait... wait until something happened, which they both knew would.

Thinking of this, Elder Tang tightened his hand into a first.

Seeing this, Lu AnLing went up to the man and put her hand on his, "It's okay grandfather, I'm here... and later on I'll still be alive. Just in another country..."

Hearing this, Elder Tang's heart stopped. Yes... she was alive. And she had to stay that way. He would not allow her to die.

Meanwhile on the sidelines, almost as if he had the ability to read minds, Kang Jun's face darkened.
