Pretty Lady

'Lu AnLing you're such a coward…' She whined.

AnLing was disappointed in herself. She had the perfect chance to distance herself from Kang Jun but because of her guilt and the promise she had made to Mingyu, she had lost her opportunity and something inside her knew that she wouldn't get another chance.

King Kang: [Good.]

For some reason, AnLing was a bit disappointed. She expected a longer message from him. Usually, he would ask her out on another date.

Was she expecting him to ask her out?

She began to blush.

As AnLing stood inside the dry cleaners she tried to clear her muddled thoughts. Expectations could only mean one thing. She was already on the edge of the point of no return. She liked him a little too much already…

'Snap out of it!' AnLing scolded herself. She didn't like where this was going.

Once AnLing got the clothing she needed to pick up she was about to bring it over to Ning Jie's place but then she got another call. It was from Manager Hong. AnLing would have to drop off the clothing and then go buy several things Ning Jie needed to get into the songwriting mood; Including, coffee, pastries, notepads, and red pens.

Yes. It had to be red.

After dropping off the clothing, the first thing AnLing did was go get herself something to eat and drink. Since that morning she hadn't eaten or drank anything and it was beginning to weigh her down.

Stopping by a small shop, she picked up a hot tea and a few sweets. She then sat outside on a bench and began to eat.

A soft breeze blew like a mini tornado, twisting and turning the locks of her hair. It was refreshing to feel the coolness. It had been so hot lately that many people had begun to forget how serene the cool summer breeze was but AnLing hadn't had that problem, because wherever Kang Jun went, a slight coolness followed.

It was one that AnLing was never uncomfortable with either. The cold never bothered her. She actually quite liked it compared to the sweat-inducing heat.

Looking up at the sky AnLing could see a bright blueness, and the trees slightly towered above her, shading half her face from the hot sun.

She closed her eyes, taking in all the sounds around her, including the rustling of the leaves, the steps and voices of passerby's as they conversed, along with the singing of the birds.

A song formed on her lips:

"He falls in love,

without having a heart and now,

he feels the birds singing in his chest.

He felt alone,

without anyone by his side and now,

the birds accompany him accompany him wherever he goes,"

The lyrics formed seamlessly on her tongue and flowed out like silk. Her voice was soft and sweet penetrating the world around her, bringing it to life.

Lu AnLing had not heard her own singing voice in a while. It turned her mood upside-down; it made her calm.

She gave herself a moment to bask at the moment and then made her way to a shop selling the red pens Ning Jie loved so much. It was easy to find a shop and buy a tonne of pens. They were cheap anyways.

While she was there, she looked through the hair elastics but they were all bad quality so she decided against buying them.

For a moment her thought drifted to Kang Jun…

To his breath of her lips and his warmth on her chest. She felt it all at that moment.

And most importantly, she could remember the vibration of his voice as he spoke to her…

AnLing couldn't help but fall into a trance.

"Hey pretty lady, You sure have a beautiful voice." A loud voice said.

It stopped AnLing dead in her tracks but she didn't want to turn to look at who had said that because a part of her believed that the person was talking to someone else but noticing the girl's strange reaction the man walked over to stared at her from the side.

Still, the girl didn't react. AnLing took out her phone and began to type away. She wasn't writing something to anyone in particular but she wanted to appear busy.

He didn't care.

The man walked up to her and then waved his hand in front of her face.

Unable to ignore him, AnLing looked up to meet the smiling face of a young man. His bleach blond hair and wide smile were so bright that AnLing wanted to turn away from him but she didn't.

She recognized him.

It was the man who had flirted with Ning Jie; the male singer…

'Another pretty boy looking for trouble.' Her immediate reaction was to swerve but the man placed himself between her and the door.

Forcing her to stay.

AnLing examined the man.

From afar, he had looked handsome but slightly childish. Up front, AnLing had to admit that he was beautiful and youthful, resonating heat like a painting depicting a summers day.

"You were singing Robots and the Blue Bird by Alina the V right?" the man asked happily. He couldn't help but show it through his loud and bubbly voice.

AnLing crossed her arms over her chest. "Yeah, Right…I need to go."

AnLing was a bit shocked that he got it right.

Alina the V was not a mainstream artist. She didn't belong to any label and her songs were only ever uploaded online. Plus, because of the voice modifications the woman made, no one knew her real voice or if she was really a woman, to begin with.

The man really knew his music.

AnLing couldn't help but be impressed but she still wouldn't stay to chat with him. Making her way around him, she walked straight to the door.

"Wait." he almost screamed.

Stopping but not turning around, AnLing sighed. The man walked towards her and then stood right in front of her once more. He was so close to the door that he completely blocked her path.

"I'm Liang Ke, and you are?"

Liang Ke held his hand out to the girl. AnLing didn't want to shake it but he was an artist and she was an assistant… she had no right to refuse.

Politely, AnLing took his hand.

"No one special," AnLing said.

She wasn't comfortable with giving out her name though she already knew that if he wanted to know he would figure it out somehow. As long as it didn't come out of her own mouth, she didn't mind as much.

AnLing: "Now, I need to go."

Liang Ke stepped aside, allowing her to walk past him. AnLing did as such and thanked the heavens that she could get away from him.

But just because he had let her out of the shop, that didn't mean he would let her go…

Walking away, AnLing suddenly heard the man beckoning to her.

"Pretty! Hey, pretty!"

AnLing was disgusted by the nickname he had given her. She wasn't even that pretty compared to the sheer amount of women he had met in the industry.

It made her feel like he was making fun of her.

"Please don't call me that."AnLing almost spat those words out with venom.

Liang Ke: "Then what should I call you then?"

AnLing sighed.

"My surname is Lu."

Liang Ke flashed her a wide smile.

"Miss Lu then."

Her name didn't sound right coming out of his mouth. She much preferred the sound of it when Kang Jun spoke it.

"Anyway, Miss Lu, Let me accompany you."

AnLing frowned. "I'm sorry, but that would be inappropriate so I must decline."

Liang Ke was left speechless. It wasn't the first time he was rejected, of course, but the professionally cold and emotionless way AnLing spoke to him made him a bit sad.

He liked girls. Mostly girls who could know music and could sing; and for some reason, AnLing's voice was just his type.

He wanted to get close to her.

So he followed her…

Yep, the dude who flirted with Ning Jie is back and he now has an interest in AnLing...

Remember how she once wondered if she had a voice fetish? Well, meet the master of voice fetishes; Liang Ke.
