Chapter 11: Next

Ooh, that left a bad taste in my mouth. But it sucks that I have to admit that I killed it because of my jealousy. What was it, anyway? I'm pretty sure it was my ego getting tickled.

Forget it. Let's keep going.

According to the satyrs, after the Ent I'm supposed to face dryads. If dryads are anything like their legend, I'm expecting gorgeous women. I know I will have to kill them, but it wouldn't hurt to have a little bit of eye candy, right?

"Come out, come out wherever you are."

...…

I walk around for almost twenty minutes without encountering anything. This is getting on my nerves. I'm expecting my eye candy here and nothing is happening here. Even if the dryads won't come out, something else can come out, right?

I continue to walk while complaining.

...…

"Why isn't it working on him?"

"How am I supposed to know?"

"It should be working on him by now. Any idea why he is still not affected by our pollen?"

"I have no fucking idea."

"Sister what do you think?"

"I also have no idea. This never happened before. So, we can only guess the reason. And unless we find the reason and make our pollen work on him, everything else is pointless. And he is going to exit our area soon."

"So, what is your guess, sister?"

"Well, my guess would be that his willpower is too high ranked for our pollen to work on him. Anyone who made it here is obviously someone not ordinary."

"But this never happened before. No man managed to fend off our pollen before. I don't see how this man is any different. And you saw how he killed the Ent because of his jealousy."

"I suppose you may have a point. Then what do you think the reason is?"

"Maybe he is into man?"

...…

SHIVER!

Shit, what was that? I felt something ominous just now. As if someone made a very wrong assumption about me. And I'm still having this shiver down my spine. Shit.

Cough, cough.

And what are all this pollen floating about. It was fine before I got that shiver down my spine. This is annoying. They keep getting inside my nose. Aah. This suck. I suppose I won't be getting any eye candy then.

Those satyrs lied to me.

Here I am, expecting to see some gorgeous dryads, getting all excited for nothing. It's been more than a year since I last saw a woman. Those satyrs were just cute not gorgeous.

This hormone shit is very troubling. On top of this troubling news, what is this shiver running down my spine. Once again, this suck.

...

"Yup, he is definitely into man. Since our pollen didn't work on him, there is nothing we can do but letting him enter the next zone."

"I still think you are wrong."

"Doesn't matter sister. He is already out of our zone. Good riddance."

...…

SHIVER!

There it is again. I walk around for almost an hour hoping for the dryads to show up. Well, higher the expectation, higher the disappointment.

Let's forget about that. I think it is time I encountered something already. And just as I was thinking that I see something appearing behind the tree.

WOW.

It is a freaking minotaur with a lower body of a centaur. And frankly it looks sick. I feel certain kind of intimidation just from looking it in its red eyes glaring at me.

Its whole body is covered in full body armor. And it is holding a big claymore, almost two meters long. But it swings it like swinging a wooden sword.

While staring it down I summon my katana and take stance. As if it saw me prepared, it charges at me with astounding speed and swings it's claymore overhead.

CLANG.

I block it horizontally with my katana and full its rotation and vibration to its fullest and expected its claymore to be sliced into two. But unexpectedly, its claymore withstands my katana.

I see some kind of energy covering its edge and fighting off my mana katana. As if it sensed the danger of my katana, it jumps back and makes some distance between us.

Now, instead of just charging me, it observes me while circling me around. And from the looks of it, its claymore didn't emerge unscathed from the clash of our swords. As there is a chip on its claymore.

Hehe. Still, from the way it swings its claymore, I can tell it has a training it swinging that thing. As for me, I got no training it wielding katana, so it is hard for me to win with technique.

So, only choice I got is to overpower it with overwhelming speed and strength. As soon I decide on my course of action, I jump into action and charge at it. It prepares for me and holds its claymore horizontally across its chest. As soon as I got into three meters distance, I jump and bring down my katan on its claymore like a divine hammer.

BOOM!

It actually causes a micro explosion. Minotaur manages to block my swing, but it still takes a few steps back from the collision. I take that gap and continues to hammer down on its claymore. It continues to block without any other choice.

And I can see its claymore chipping more and more as I continue to hammer down hard on it. And as soon as it breaks, I will cut it down.

But before I can do that, I suddenly shifts back like a car and dodges my katana. I stumble forward from because of my momentum and almost fall. While I was orienting myself, it raises it's claymore and swings it down on my neck like a guillotine. I feel it falling down of my neck, aiming to claim my life.

Instead of falling back, I push forward and get in front of it.

CLANG.

I barely managed to dodge its swing and blocked its swing with my armor. Still its claymore managed to almost slice through my armor and draw blood from my back. If it managed to go deeper by even one cm, it would have cut through my spine.

While it struck my back, I managed to stab it in its gut and slice through its abdomen. As I sheathe my katana, its minotaur like upper body falls to the ground.

I endure through the pain to stand straight. Now that I looked closer, its claymore almost grazed my spine. Well, even if it did, I'm sure my Ygg can heal me back. Only problem if that happened would be that I couldn't move after that.

And I'm sure it would manage to dispatch me when I'm immobile. Anyway, I still get the familiar feeling of life force being absorbed. And like many before it, the how am I supposed to call it, anyway?

Whatever. It still crumbles into dust like many before it. Now, unless the dryads decide to show themselves, there is only the boss left.

I see a giant tree in front of me as I think that. I suppose that is where the boss is.
