Taming An Elite Monster

"Should I go for it?" Jay asked himself as he looked at a group of Wild Dogs.

"There are 5 of them, and an Elite... Screw it! I should just try my best to get an SSS rating for the Class Trial."

[Jay equipped Flintlock Pistol.]

[You have 100 Iron Pellets]

"Time to put this baby to use." Jay then made sure that there were no other wild dogs in the vicinity except the group in front of him before he aimed the pistol at one of the Wild Dog Pack Leader's eyes.

Bang!

A display of -300 then appeared on top of the Wild Dog Pack Leader.

"Nice! It seems like hitting vital spots of monsters still work." Jay said happily since he could only deal 130 damage with the Flintlock Pistol if he shot it normally. But due to him hitting a vital spot, the Wild Dog Pack Leader's eyes, there is an increase of 270 damage.

Rawwrrr...

The wild dogs charged at Jay one after another while their pack leader was currently trying to keep its vision straight since Jay's shot completely destroyed its vision in its left eye.

Then one of the wild dogs tried to land a bite on Jay, but Jay manages to avoid it by side stepping out of the wild dog's attack range.

"Nice try doggie!" Jay shouted happily and used the Flintlock Pistol to jab it in the eye since he cannot reload at the moment.

A -30 then displayed on top of the Wild Dog's head.

While the Wild Dog Pack leader was trying to recuperate, Jay did the same thing over and over for the rest of the Wild Dogs. He stabbed them in the eye every time they attempted to attack.

When the wild dogs only had 40 of their health left due to getting jabbed both in the eyes, Jay then proceeded with the taming.

"Tame!"

[Jay used tame on wounded Wild Dog(1)]

[Successfully tamed Wild Dog]

[Wild Dog is converted into Monster Essence x3]

Jay did the same thing for the other four wild dogs remaining.

"Hmmm... Interesting... So each type of monster gives out a different amount of Monster Essence. I wonder how much will I get for an elite..." While Jay was thinking about this, the Wild Dog Pack Leader finally came to its senses and immediately tried to use its skill, Vicious Bite, on Jay.

Rawwwrrrr...

"Crap, it's too fast." Jay thought when he saw the Wild Dog Pack Leader's distance from him get closer and closer.

20 meters...

10 meters...

5 meters...

"I hope this works..." One of Jay's legs then moved in a circular motion.

"Whirlwind Kick."

If a player with a Brawler Class was here, he or she might think Jay is crazy to actually attempt using Whirlwind Kick without him actually having the skill or the class required.

But what players did not know before the first update of the game happened was that any skill can be learned by anyone as long as they perform the exact actions displayed in the skill books that contains the said skill.

But sadly, no one really cares about the illustrations or words written in books at this point in the game since the learning process is automated before the 2nd update of the game.

As for Jay, the only reason he knows how to perform the skill was not because he actually read the skill book but because he already fought many Brawler Class players in the past, when he was still a Level 543 Grand Sorcerer.

[Jay tried to learn {Active Skill: Whirlwind Kick}]

[Jay managed to perform 95% success of the skill]

[Jay learned {Active Skill: Whirlwind Kick}]

When Jay's kick landed on the Wild Dog Pack Leader's mouth that was fully opened due to it performing 'Vicious Bite', a display of -60 appeared while a crunchy sound came from it, as it's upper jaw was destroyed from Jay's kick.

"Hahaha!!! It worked! It's sad that I only know some basic skills and not the advanced class skills."

If others heard Jay's random remark, they might have immediately coughed up blood since unlike what Jay just did, which is learning a skill instantly, they had to spend a lot of time grinding monsters until a skill book dropped since a skill book sold by an NPC cost around 50 Silver to 1 Gold which no one can afford in this current stage of the game.

The Wild Dog Pack Leader only has around 140 health by now. Since this one was an Elite monster, it immediately tried to flee since it knew that Jay is too strong. It made whimpering sounds as it tried to run away from Jay

"Trying to flee? No one flees from Jay." Jay then grabbed its tail and tried to swing the dog around.

Sadly, it was too heavy, so instead of swinging it around, Jay used all of his strength to drag it and slam it against a tree.

Then a -30 appeared on top of the Wild Dog Pack Leader's head.

"Time to tame it I guess..." Jay thought since it only had around 20% of its health left.

[Jay used Tame on wounded Wild Dog Pack Leader.]

[Successfully tamed Wild Dog Pack Leader]

[Wild Dog Pack Leader is converted into Monster Essence x 30]

Jay was shocked to see just how much Monster Essence the Wild Dog Pack Leader gave him.

"This is nice! If I total the number of Monster Essences that I have right now, which I got from 23 Green Slimes, 5 Wild Dogs, and the Wild Dog Pack Leader, it should amount at 58."

After Jay thought about that stuff, he became very happy and wanted to tame more monsters.

"Taming monsters is so fun! It adds a twist to the game rather than just killing everything you see. Speaking of taming, I wonder how Nuggets is doing under Barton's care. Hehehe..."

Jay then proceeded to a tiny dirt hill just near him.

When Jay arrived near the hill, he noticed there were a lot of slimes around that numbered around 60-70. The slimes grouped together even looked like a rainbow due to the many colors available. Green Slimes, Blue Slimes, etc.

"Hahaha! What luck! But why do I feel the Class Trial is too easy? There should probably be some kind of 'untamable' monster here that I need to tame in order to get a rank of S. Or maybe I just really need to tame as many monsters as I can. Hmmm..." Jay thought to himself before he entered the slimes' aggro range.

"Feeding time! Come to Daddy!!!" Jay then tossed all of the leaves he collected which is 'uncountable' for lazy people.

Jay then proceeded with the taming process...
