Traders

Michael was surprised to see Michelle here in Austin. He thought that she would still be in Briarcliff; however, it seemed that she had the courage to come to Austin. He was astonished that he did not recognize her when going through the resumes; however, it was possible since he was paying more attention to the qualifications and ignored the names.

Michelle was surprised to see Michael here. It looked like he was one of the hiring managers. She heard that he moved out of the town a while back and he seemed to be doing quite well. In truth, Michelle was hesitant to leave the comfort of her hometown. However, she knew that she would not have any future in that remote town.

Michelle planned on working and taking classes part-time in order to get through college. She was attracted by the generous benefits Empyreal holdings offered. She knew that being a part of a startup was a great way to have a plethora of opportunities. Companies always sought to promote within; therefore, when she graduated she could get a big promotion. Michelle greeted Michael and sat down.

Jennifer immediately realized that Michael was familiar with this candidate. She turned to him to see what he would do. Michael signaled her to conduct the interview. Jennifer conducted a standard interview and told Michelle to check for emails. As Michelle walked out, Jennifer turned to Michael " Who is she?"

" Just an old acquaintance from my hometown." Michael replied.

"Are you going to hire her as a trader?" Michelle asked. The trader position had the lowest requirements out of all the positions. Consequently, it was also the only position Michelle was qualified for.

" No, since she is a student she will not be able to handle the stress of school and trading at the same time. Consider her for one of the clerical positions." Michael replied. He did at one point try to date Michelle but that was all in the past. He would not allow past personal relationships to taint his business.

The next candidate walked in and Michael started his round of interviews. He managed to hire five candidates with advanced tier finance talents. The other five had intermediate level talents. The interviews continued for three days. Michael managed to gather 12 advanced level talents and 13 intermediate level talents. He finally had his first batch of traders.

Michael drove home with a weary expression. He was tired of sitting in for so many interviews. Fortunately, they hired enough HR personnel who would take over recruiting in the future. Michael laid in his couch as he contemplated his schedule. He would have to start training the traders now. Fortunately, he was finally done with the game.

Michael turned to his workstation. The game was going to be called Capos. The design engine had tremendous data encryption abilities. The software guaranteed that the game will not be cracked. It even came with a tracking software to detect malicious hackers. Michael was confident that this game would shake up the world. The graphics were as good as the latest pc games. It would be a milestone in mobile gaming.

Michael prepared the game to hand over to the employees of Eminence gaming. He would give them admin rights to manage the game; however, the design engine gave him the final authority. The original game would be saved on his secure workstation at home.

The next day Michael wore his most professional suit to prepare for his first impression. The entire team of Eminence Gaming was waiting for his presentation. After all, they were a gaming company with no game to sell yet. Michael had prepared a powerpoint with gameplay footage to show the employees.

Arjun Kapoor was a Backend server engineer who specialized in game servers. He had been hired as the team lead for Eminence gaming. Honestly, he was flabbergasted by the generous benefits. The company had one of the highest pay scales he had ever seen. He figured that the small company had enormous ambitions.

As he listened to Michael's presentation and watched the gameplay footage he started frowning. The footage looked fabulous; almost too good to be true. He raised his hand and asked the question that was burning in his mind. " Is that really a mobile game?"

Michael turned to the engineer asking the question and smiled. He took that question as confirmation of the hard work he put into the game over the past two months. " Yes, it is. It will be available for both Android and ios platforms. " Michael declared leaving everyone astonished.

Michael passed out the demo phones he prepared. The phones had the game on them and provide absolute proof. The employees tried the game on the phone and felt joyful.

Initially, they were all nervous when they joined an unknown startup. The benefits were generous, however, if the company cannot generate profits in the future then it would close down. The benefits and salaries needed revenue to pay for them. The gaming industry was harsh to newcomers. However, now they knew that the company had a bright future. They were glad to have joined the company in the early stages.

Arjun played the game on the demo phone. However, he still had its doubts. He checked the total size of the game and was astonished to find that the game was only 500mb. Initially, he was worried that such an extensive game would be too big for mobile devices. He planned on convincing Michael to adapt the game for computers.

" Who developed this game?" Arjun asked the only question left in his mind. He had nearly 15 years experience in the gaming industry and could not think of any developer teams that were this extraordinary. Such a team would have already been bought out by gaming conglomerates like EA or Blizzard.

" It was developed by an overseas team." Michael replied. Naturally he could admit that he developed the game and take credit; however, he was cautious about attracting that much attention to himself. The game was too revolutionary hence its developers needed to remain anonymous. Michael let the employees get to work. The game was set to release next week after another round of quality checks.

Next, he walked upstairs to the office of Empyreal holdings. His 25 traders were waiting in the largest conference room. Michael greeted his traders and started his presentation. For the traders, he mostly talked about what they were going to do. None of the people he hired had previous trading experience so this was all new information to them.

Michael handed them the information packet he prepared. Within the next two weeks, the traders would learn the basics and also practice on simulated accounts. After the presentation Michael let the trainers go back to their offices. He wanted to take a hands-off approach to training them.

After all, the traders were adults, they did not need to be forced to do things. Michael would check on their progress in two weeks. He provided the resources so it was up to the traders to utilize them and improve.

Michael called the brokerage firm he had been using. In reality Mathew had been pestering him these past few months; however, Michael chose to ignore the arrogant broker. Now he needed to arrange for corporate accounts for his employees.

Matthew Griffin was excited to get Michael's call. He was dumbfounded by Michael's success these past few months. Michael had turned into the largest personal client the brokerage had. There were accounts with more funds than Michael; however, they were all business accounts with multiple people sharing authority for them. Michael's account belonged to him only.

Matthew answered the young geniuses call with high expectations. " Hello Michael, thank you for replying to my calls. I have to say you are one busy investor sir."

" I was busy with some business matters. I was calling because I wanted to talk to someone about setting up corporate accounts." Michael replied.

" Well, that is great sir. I can help you start a corporate profile with our brokerage. How much were you looking to invest?" Matthew answered while getting excited. A new corporate account was rare these days. This transaction would get him a lot of commission.

" No Matthew, I am looking for someone different. Perhaps you can connect me to your supervisor." Michael replied. He did not want to deal with this arrogant broker anymore.

Matthew felt his heart bleed. He knew that Michael did not like him because of his initial arrogance. He wished he could go back in time and take back his words; however, there was no time machine. Matthew transferred Michael to his manager with a heart full of remorse and regret.

The manager was extra nice to Michael and quickly set up the corporate accounts he needed. Michael had purchased 50 accounts with $100,000 in them each. The accounts were locked so that traders could not withdraw money from them.

These accounts were for his employees to practice with. In reality, wasting $5 million for practice seemed wrong; however, Michael did not even flinch because he knew that this investment would pay off in the future. He looked forward to the day when he could sit back and have his traders earn money for him.

Thanks for reading. Wow that was a long chapter. Don't worry there will be some action coming up soon.
