Resumen

After Sara died, she found herself in between Death and the Afterlife, and the place sure looked like a city right out of a sci-fi film. With two years to kill before she had to appear in Court, where they would determine exactly where she belonged in the afterlife, Sara was determined to enjoy every minute that she had here. But after helping out a strange man, Sara found herself selected for a program to return to earth, and we’re not talking about the average reincarnation here- Sara had the chance to return to her original timeline, in her original body. She had a chance to get her life back. If only it was that easy. She should’ve known there would be strings attached.

Chapter 1The White Office

When Sara woke up, she was no longer in her bed.

She was in a dim lit room that she did not recognize, and she was laying on a surprisingly warm stone slab. Sara propped herself up with her elbows as she took in her strange surroundings. There was absolutely nothing in the room, no toilet no window- in fact the only things in the room were a few tiny lights embedded in the floor, and a door directly across from the stone slab she was laying on.

Sara slowly slid off of her makeshift bed, and her legs buckled underneath her. She leaned heavily against the stone, feeling lightheaded and dizzy as dots danced across her vision.

After taking a few moments to steady herself, Sara glanced down at the white pajamas she was wearing. She went to bed wearing her favorite cartoon pants and a matching shirt, this she knew to be fact. That night Sara had developed an awful headache, and as a result she called to cancel her plans with her friends so that she could relax and sleep off her headache. She could remember putting on her oversized and well-worn pajamas in an effort to cheer herself up, and then she made some hot cocoa to drink while she waited for her sleeping pills to kick in.

So why was she here? And where was 'here' exactly?

Sara peeled back her shirt and was unsurprised to see that she wasn't wearing a bra, and then she blushed bright red because she noticed that her chest area was quite a bit smaller than it had been before she went to sleep.

'This… this is a dream. Okay, I can deal with this.'

Sara took in a deep breath and glared defiantly at the door across from her.

"Gee, I wonder what's behind door number one?" Laughing to herself, Sara felt slightly hysterical as she crossed her arms self-consciously over her chest, "I really hope this dream doesn't turn into a nightmare about my childhood, or something equally depressing. If it does, I am never using this brand of sleeping pills again."

Sara wobbled her way to the ordinary-looking door, and then she took ahold of the handle and fearlessly turned it. After all, the quicker she dealt with whatever was behind this door, the quicker she could wake up and get back to reality.

Sara squinted and quickly reached up to shield her eyes from the light that was coming in from behind the doorway. After a few moments her eyes adjusted, and Sara took in the room in front of her with calculating eyes.

It was… not what she had expected.

The room was designed like an everyday office, but every single thing in the room was white. The walls were white, the carpet was white, the prominent desk in the center of the room was also white- and behind this desk sat a white-haired lady who was typing on her white colored computer. There was even a white panting hanging to her left that was simply clumps of white paint slathered on a canvas.

The white-haired woman looked up from her computer screen and smiled at Sara with her bleach white teeth. Her tanned skin and brown eyes were the only source of color in the room, but all the white around her made those colors almost painful to look at.

"Hello Miss Sara!" The woman politely stood up from her white office chair, and smoothed her hands down her white skirt, "Please, take a seat." She gestured toward to two white chairs in front of her desk, her smile unwavering. Sara quietly wondered if she was some kind of android.

"Okay…"

Sara slowly made her way into the room, her eyes wandering over the office in search of something threatening. Other then the abundance of white that threatened to bring back her headache however, nothing stood out as particularly dangerous.

Sara decided to humor the woman, after all, this was just dream and Sara found herself curious about where it would lead. Sara sat down in one of the comfortable chairs, and the woman's smile widened as she gracefully moved to sit back in her own seat.

"Excellent! Thank you so much for your cooperation Miss Sara, I promise not take too much of your time." The woman in white tucked her hair behind her ears, and her posture was perfect enough to make Sara straighten her back subconsciously, "My name is Eve, and I am here to make sure your stay with us is as comfortable as possible!"

Sara lifted a single eyebrow and smiled a strange smile, "And where is 'here' exactly, Miss Eve?"

Eve's smile became a bit strained, and then it disappeared altogether. She let out a gentle sigh and lowered her gaze to where her hands were folded on her desk.

"Miss Sara… there is no easy way for me to say this, so I am sorry if I come across as a bit rude, but I've found that saying it outright is the best thing to do." Eve took in a deep breath, and then looked up to meet Sara's curious eyes.

"Miss Sara, you are dead."
