By the time Song Qingchun finished giving her statement, it was already 1 am. They had missed the New Year fireworks.

Qin Yinan was worried that Song Qingchun was hungry after such a long, stressful event, so when they passed a 24-hour fast food chain, he turned around to ask, "Song Song, are you hungry? Do you want to go have something to eat?"

Silence filled the car. Song Qingchun looked at the passing neon lights through the window and realized that night was probably the first time she had ever rejected an invitation by Qin Yinan. Previously, she would have given up the entire world to have her Brother Yinan invite her out for supper.
