Personally I really like the idea, but I want to ask something, did he get smarter after coming to the rick & morty universe, that's the first question, for the second ,why didn't the memory wipe work on him As the first comment please answer these questions thanks

He didnt get any smarter, the reality he was from just had much tamer physics so he couldn't really use that intelligence for anything grand. He's still a genius, not the smartest but he's up there. And the mind erasure will be explained later.
