there is not an acadamy for captains..... there is only an acadamy for shinigami, and depending on your results you could get a Numbered seat in one of the gotei 13... becoming a captain means you have 3 captains that are recomending you as well as the actual strenght of being able to use bankai. since that is one part of what a captain needs to be able to use
