I think you are poor in writing a world background because if the ratio of male is less than female even poor orphan should be treated 100 times better than you have written and girls would be more submissive and treating boys better than written even so for handsome boys because if not the population of boy will continue to decrease and this will be a problem for the government in the novel you are writing and please don't add rose in the harem or restaurant manager

Peoples treats orphan badly in every world. That's how human is... Also in that world, there is a major shortage of jobs. So, normally owner doesn't want to leave his shop(Workplace) to someone who can't be trusted... Male orphans does gets jobs and same goes to female ones too.. But it's not in large number.. Let's suppose there is an orphanage in Litteroot city. 30 orphan has to leave orphanage in this year. Only 5 of them will be able to get proper jobs and others has to do something on their own... That's why there is so many thugs... Because, orphans just find it easier to live while being in an organization... Also, girls has favorable treatment toward males too. But there is a problem with mc's environment.... Those who were rude to mc had their own reason to do that.. Even the manager of the restaurant was kind toward him. But she has to kick him out. She had her own problems... These kind of information will explain in the middle of the volume one(I have already finished writing it)...

Rose is a major character. (She won't be able to get into his harem even if she wants now. I have never planned her to be in his harem.) About Restaurant manager Erica. I don't know if she will be in his harem or not..
