Reading some of these comments makes it seem as though they didn't even real the novel. How can you call her selfish when she has been taking care of, nurturing, and helping his family, while the mc just travels the world and cultivates freely. If anything, the mc is much more apathetic towards the life and death of his relatives.
Just got done reading the 49 chapter prolouge and decided to write this review before starting the real story. I'm not going to comment much on the grammar and sentence structuring, as the author does gradually improve further down the line. The first 15 chapters might have been some of the worst that I have read on Webnovel. It's filled with a copious amount of info dump that's written in a report format, making the read an absolute chore. I'm not sure what the author was thinking, but there are probably less than 2-3 character dialogs in each chapter, with most of it being a summary of mundane and irrelevant events. Chapter 16 onwards, the story gets a bit more interesting, and we finally get some character interactions. There is still an abundance of unnecessary info dump. However, the main character does get a lot more focus. 30 chapters into the story, and it finally feels like the author has upgraded his writing style. You also see a significant improvement in his grammar and sentence structuring. The story starts to feel more alive, and it no longer feels like a chore to read each chapter. There are still some plot holes, but it's negligible as this is just a prolouge. This does make me look forward to the future chapters after his regression, and my expectations are still relatively high for now.
I'm sure you have your reasons, but it would have been a lot better to hold off on such a big reveal. Nothing changes the fact that the ml now has memories from his previous life. He is no longer the same individual that we started off with. Whether the past life was from a "real" world or not does not matter. The memories are still their, and it will undoubtedly affect his behavior and relationship with the fl, which is honestly my biggest issue with it. Like I said previously, the master/slave dynamic exists only in name now, as the ml is aware of his feelings due to the new memories. Keeping this reveal for much later down the road while naturally developing the relationship between ml/fl would have been the better move, in my opinion.
Have these chapters been edited yet, or are you still working on it?
There is so much useless information in this chapter, and most people will forget a lot of it anyway. Should have been a bit more gradual with the info dump and spread it across multiple chapters instead.
The novel by itself is a decent read with minium grammar issues. Though, it was somewhat difficult to follow the flow of the story at times. Unfortunately, the title is somewhat misleading, and it feels like I'm reading a completely different novel after around chapter 130. I was very much looking forward to how the romance would progress with the status of Master/Slave between our fl/ml. For the first 100 chapters, the author also seemed to address this issue. However, this all changed around chapter 130. Maybe the author gave into the pressure from some of the readers who were put off by the mcs status as a slave, but the novel completely fell of after the ml "died" and came back with the memories of his previous life and all that nonsense. The unusual romance I was looking forward to turned into the typical past life love story, and now even the master/slave dynamic is irrelevant to the plot. On top of that, the FL does not even feel like a villaness. Having a cold face and being unsocial does not fit that criteria. At most, she is a bit harsh and willing to kill, but that is still not enough. Maybe it was my fault for expecting a somewhat evil FL. Anyways, if you go into the story without certain expectations, then you will probably enjoy it, but I'll be dropping the novel here.
It's because she is not ordinary that they want to keep her in the family, and also why they asked her opinion on the matter.
It's somewhat difficult to understand some of these paragraphs. Just to be clear, the MC is from our world but reincarnated into an alternate Earth. Is that correct?
What is so different about this harem?
A romance novel about a couple, but apparently it's also harem? Do both of the leads have their own separate harem?
