I'm pretty conflicted about this novel. It has some interesting ideas, but several aspects of the execution made it frustrating to read. The protagonist feels underwhelming, especially when it comes to business and negotiation. He repeatedly misses obvious opportunities, making him seem less capable than he should be. Another issue is the way the story handles tension. It frequently sets up situations that seem like they're about to have major consequences, only for them to fizzle out without much impact. Instead of feeling unpredictable, it ends up making the dramatic moments lose their weight, and the overall atmosphere stays unnecessarily gloomy. The plot itself hasn't done much to distinguish itself either. On top of that, the MC remains overly attached to his real world life, spending far too little time taking advantage of the game's opportunities. His progression feels much slower than it should, and it often seems like he's not making the most of the world the story has built. Overall, it's readable, but I think the protagonist's decisions, the pacing, and the handling of tension could all be much stronger.

It's refreshing to come across something that actually feels different for a change. This has been a relaxing yet genuinely engaging read. The setting is a modern alternate Earth without the usual fantasy overload, so the protagonist's unique abilities naturally become the main attraction instead of just being another power among many. I also really enjoyed how the MC gradually builds up a small group of animal companions and raises them into powerful spirit beasts. On top of that, the story isn't limited to zoo related events, the protagonist gets involved in all kinds of situations, including assisting the police, which keeps things feeling fresh. I ended up binge reading everything that was available and was pleasantly surprised by how few of the common clichés found in many Chinese web novels appeared here. No unnecessary nationalism, no over the top propaganda, and overall a very enjoyable experience. The only minor issue I noticed was the occasional mix up with pronouns, where a female cat is sometimes referred to as "he." Other than that, I had a great time reading it.

At first, I assumed it would be another generic face slapping story, but it surprised me in the best way possible. This is exactly the kind of Pokemon novel I've been searching for. It has such a unique premise, and I got hooked almost immediately. The group chat concept is honestly genius. It adds so much personality to the story and keeps every chapter entertaining. It's one of those ideas that sounds simple but ends up making the novel stand out from the rest. My only complaint is the update schedule. I flew through all the available chapters way faster than I expected, and now I'm stuck waiting for more. If the author starts releasing chapters more frequently, this would easily become one of my favorite reads.
