hey, sorry for the late reply. you see the author likes to slowly build the characters. The main storyline is about children after all. so there isn't much of a choice other than coming up with these plots to grow the children. this isn't a wish fulfillment fanfic so these things takes time. thankfully he is actually using sensible plotlines.

not really as Azu makes mistake Peter tells(more like guides him) to the correct path while at the same time Peter tries not to be rigid. give the story some time, you will see what I am talking about. sure it feels like Peter needs to take more responsibility but he is acting like a parents who lets his children discover the way while also projecting the typical Asian parenthood style of children staying loyal to their parents values on to Azu, which is totally normal.
