Perhaps I should have mentioned this sooner, but Elora can change her size to be 1.6m in height, much like her mother :) I think mentioned in chapter ten.
Although they had danced around it for a little while, It hadn't actually taken long after they met before Erik and Elora became each other's firsts. Ever since then, they had gone at it like rabbits.
