Common has a way with words and can construct a scene with great precision. Awesome job! Give this story a chance and I doubt you'll regret it. We can only hope for more chapters to release in the future.
Of course!
Hey, thanks for the feedback. I do need to edit the paragraphs, I tend to write them way too large without somehow realizing others dislike that kind of thing. As for descriptions, I expect they'll be needed to build up atmosphere considering this is a horror series, but I'll try not to let it get out of hand. I've been on break for a bit, but I'll write new chapters soon and I hope you can enjoy them. Thanks for your time!
I too am looking forward to more updates! The writing is generally good in terms of its descriptions and dialogue, although sometimes things feel a bit repetitive. I also find the writing to be focused more on telling us things than showing them, especially in moments where we're initially introduced to characters and we're immediately told to think they're smart, beautiful, ect without seeing why we would think of them that way. Don't want to sound negative, those are only minor things I wanted to point out. That doesn't negate the fact that the character's you are introducing are interesting, and the grammar and sentence structuring is on point! Keep it up.
Stability of updates is incredible, to upload nearly daily at that level of quality deserves praise in of itself. Now, for what I consider most impressive. The vocabulary. I know, sounds like a weird thing to praise a story for. Every story requires a vocabulary, but this one is particularly extensive. To have unique and interesting ways to describe scenes, character interactions, reactions, and settings ensures that the flow of the story remains interesting and doesn't become a slog. In turn, what begins as a commendation for the vocabulary on display, actually turns into a commendation for the pacing and imagery, two of the most important aspects of the story. The prologue is particularly impressive in the vocabulary department, I'd like to note. And, I find it impressive that you can introduce many characters so early without it feeling overwhelming. This not just has to do with what I've mentioned already, but in the novel's ability to give a unique voice and description to each person. So, in short, I'm excited to see where this goes! Saving it to my collection.
Bit of a shameless self review, but I really am proud and confident to get this started. This is my first time doing something like this, attempting to write a full length novel. I have experience with short stories, but never such a large scale project. I hope you all with have patience with me and give helpful advice as this series continues. Above all else, I hope you find this to be a thoroughly enjoyable reading experience through and through. Thank you!
