*lightning sword
Maybe it's based on his stats rather than rank given that those haven't changed either.
*more than a thousand steps
Tending to the half dead student and prince of his country?
Agreed, adapt sounds more like getting a small damage reduction against the damage type the oppent deals. The current ability feels more suited to fighting skill/style and trickery than durability.
On the other hand, given how quickly he's taken to Valerie, I wouldn't be surprised if it's just his protective, yandere side coming through.
It makes sense to stay away for now until Valerie and the reverse harem calm down from the incident, but even then, there's no reason to outright ignore her, and after it's blown over they can all be friends. Just explain to her that he'd contributed to the incident via his misunderstanding and wanted to make it up to Valerie by spending time alone together for a few days and afterwards try to get along as a group with Valerie included, no reason tk make an enemy of her and by extension the whole group, just tk deal with couple of yandere outliers like Parkinson.
What i mean to say is that due to his situation, it means much more, like delivering coal in a snowstorm. the original second prince was a similar story, though admittedly, his misunderstanding of Valerie's intent made things seem worse than they actually were.
just showing care? shure. but in his case, he's met with prejudice and disdain for being the prince of the neighbouring country, likely since due to proximity, the two countries have previously had their fair share of wars.
True, however the dialogue is very important if he doesn't have the memories of the original since it gives him some insight into how the original normally behaves, letting him act without suspicion of possession by an evil spirit or similar being.
