I thought about it, and if you don't want to make his ascended ability help him with his flaw then you could expand more on either his connection with the void or on the qualities of true darkness, or maybe something similar to Cassie's ascended abilityand Shadow Mark. I mean, in the end, darkness is used to steal or seal something so you could also expand on that.

I thought about it, and ascended abilities tend to make up for your flaw in most cases. Cassie can use the senses of others since she is blind, Kai can control others since his flaw makes them more untrustworthy, Jet can absorb broken soul shards directly from slain foes after killing them since she risks dying if not absorbing enough broken shards. Then we have people who don't follow this rule like nephis with longing or morgan with the enhancement absorption or sunny with shadow incarnation. Well, i'll try and think one now

The answer is the void. As such our characters have to pass through the void when they go to SS universe (unless they are directly teletransported to it which is boring) so I also made my character affected by the void, to be precise his soul sea and Aspect. Oh I didn't have the same idea as you about there being a big tear in the sky of the soul sea which would contaminate the entire soul sea after absorbing a core coming from it/AspectLegacy.
