damn. what the hell happened why I was away?!!
she doesn't know what he is capable of.
yep. and with shorter chapters it irks me a little.
What happened?
That's it for today. let's meet again if I don't forget about this novel again and don't get lazy again..😅
Here’s the updated version of Chapter 1! I am working on rewriting all the older chapters, improving grammar, sentence structure etc for better reading experience. First I will finish uploading all the remaining chapters from chapter 36 to 45 and then i will update these old chapters.
Chapter 65 "Fire Smash! That’s just too lame!" Am I dreaming right now? That’s how it feels. “Don’t mess with me… What the hell are you!?” “Didn’t I tell you? I have no name to give a scum like you.” In my hazy consciousness, my mouth moved on its own. If I was really speaking my raw thoughts, the sheer number of embarrassingly cheesy lines would be bad enough… but what shocked me even more were the men lying sprawled around me. My memory since looking at my phone was fuzzy, yet here I was, storming into an underground house all by myself and taking on these guys with my bare hands. “Damn brat! I’ll kill yo—” “Too slow. You think that’s enough to take me down?” “Guh… Everyone, get him!!” “I’ll give you that much of a handicap. Come at me!” …At this point, I had no idea what I was seeing or doing anymore. My body, which somehow still felt like mine, moved with acrobatic precision, taking them down one by one without fail. It was the very definition of a lion in battle. I felt like I’d become a hero straight out of a manga. “…Heh.” “?” I tilted my head at the man who let out a faint smirk, but it’s not like I hadn’t noticed the presence creeping up behind me. “Hmph.” “What!?” With just a slight shift of my body, a bat swung down by another guy missed me entirely. Without giving him time to react, I delivered a backfist, landing a clean hit. “Guh… ahh…” I watched the guy collapse and stop moving, marveling at my own moves like it was someone else’s feat. Wow, impressive. Now that the other nuisances were out of the way, I turned my attention to Matsufusa-san’s younger brother. His earlier smirk had vanished. The eyes staring back at me were like those looking at a monster—pretty rude, considering he was the real monster for selling his own sister for money. “Tch… Damn ittttt!!” He pointed his phone at me and fiddled with something. I felt an odd sensation, like something was clinging to my body. He grinned creepily again, but it meant nothing to me. “Haaaaaaah!!” With a loud shout, channeling strength from deep within, the creepy feeling trying to latch onto me faded away. “…Why… Why isn’t it working!?” I’d love to ask the same thing… but for now, the priority was dealing with Matsufusa-san, who stood there in a daze. Realizing his tricks were useless, he stood up and charged at me. My body calmly shifted into a defensive stance. “This one strike will end it all.” “Don’t underestimate meeeee!!” “Fire Smash!!” Ugh, what a cringe-worthy name!! Even as I inwardly cringed at my own naming sense, my fist connected perfectly with his cheek. His body twitched briefly before going still. After confirming he was down, I pointed my phone at the one he’d been holding. A light flashed as if they were resonating, and the hypnosis app on his phone was completely wiped out. “Punishment served! Oh, wait… huh?” It was only then that my consciousness fully snapped back into focus. The events up to that point were hazy but still in my memory. I stood there blankly for a moment before hurrying over to Matsufusa-san. “Are you okay!?” “…You’re…” Matsufusa Mafuyu-san. She stared at me, still in a daze. But soon, she hugged herself tightly, and large tears began streaming down her face. “I-I… I… Why… How… Is this real? No… I don’t want this… Aaaaaaaah!!” “!?” It was a wail born from her heart breaking apart. I’d never seen a woman cry like this before. It was enough to root me to the spot. (…So this… this is the real damage caused by that hypnosis app…) If that’s the case… No, first, I need to calm Matsufusa-san down. Seeing her cry like this reminded me of my past exchanges with Aika and Fiana, and I hesitated, unsure if it was okay to touch her. “…Screw it! Excuse me for a sec!” I wrapped my arms around her trembling body. She flinched, her shaking intensifying for a moment, but realizing who I was seemed to calm her slightly. I gently patted her back and spoke softly. “It’s okay now. I know it’s hard to feel safe, but…” “…Little brother?” Oh, “little brother”? That’s a new one. Kinda refreshing. Matsufusa-san must’ve desperately wanted someone to cling to, because she wrapped her arms around my back and pressed herself close. Even in a moment like this, I couldn’t help but think how nice it felt—proof I’ve got way too much composure, for better or worse. “…?” I figured I should get her out of here before these guys woke up, but then I noticed my phone screen flickering. Matsufusa-san still had her face buried in my chest, so I ignored her for a moment and stared at the screen. (…Erase her memory? It can do that?) The hypnosis app’s screen, which had popped up out of nowhere, displayed those words. A note beside it said this was a one-time special feature. I was floored—Seriously? (I thought memory alteration wasn’t possible, partner… But if this actually works, it might be the quickest solution.) For Matsufusa-san, this memory would likely haunt her forever. If I erased it right now, she could forget being that jerk’s plaything… and forget meeting me too, but what’s that matter? “…” I’m not one to talk, but it was the unreal hypnosis app that caused her this suffering. If I erased her memories tied to that impossible thing, she could return to her normal, everyday reality. (…As for that guy, I’ll make sure he gets what’s coming.) Her brother? No mercy. Even with the app gone from his hands, I couldn’t let a creep like that stay near her. If this memory-erasing power worked on him too, I’d have more options, but oh well—his fate’s up in the air now. “Matsufusa-san.” “…What?” She seemed to have calmed down a bit. She’s older than me—same grade as my sister—but with her tear-swollen eyes staring up at me, she looked younger. It was a strange feeling. I continued speaking to her as she lifted her face. “You did great holding on… That might sound weird, but soon you’ll wake up from this nightmare. My sister’s been really worried about you, so please, let her see you back to your cheerful self.” “Uh… Little brother?” She probably had no clue what I was talking about. And that’s fine. I don’t even have the right to comfort her like this… because I’m no different from him. “…Do it, partner.” As if answering, the screen flashed. Matsufusa-san looked at me with a startled expression, but her eyelids soon drooped as if she were sleepy. Her strength gave out, and she leaned into me. I picked her up and set her on a nearby chair. “Now… one more job, partner.” First, I’d make sure that creep and his crew went wild in a way that wouldn’t harm anyone else. They’ve probably done other shady stuff too, so the police would have plenty to handle soon. “…There’s some seriously sketchy stuff here.” There’s something that looks like flour—yeah, this is beyond my jurisdiction now. I said “everyone” earlier, but that’d be tough, so I woke up two of them, put them under hypnosis, and sent them outside. Then I lifted Matsufusa-san, left the underground house, and sat her on a bench a short distance away. “…Hm?” “Oh, you’re awake?” She opened her eyes, stared blankly for a bit, then yelped in surprise when she saw me. “L-Little brother!? Why am I here!? Wait, was I sleeping next to you!? Huh? Did you do something to me!?” “Don’t say stuff that’ll get me in trouble!!” What’s with this woman the second she wakes up!? I accidentally raised my voice, forgetting everything from earlier, but she laughed brightly, clapping her hands together with a “Sorry, sorry!” “I was just startled. I feel like something happened, but I can’t remember… Hey, you really didn’t do anything to me, right?” “I didn’t!!” “…You don’t have to deny it that hard, you know?” “…Sorry.” “Pfft!” Oh, I think I get why I can tell right away when she’s feeling down. But… it seems she really doesn’t remember anything from before. There’s no trace of fear or sadness in her eyes anymore. (…Man, I went and did something as huge as altering her memory… but seeing her smile like this makes me feel like I didn’t mess up.) This should solve my sister’s worries too, right? She doesn’t even remember I saved her, obviously, but there’s no reward greater than this smile. A woman’s smile really is the best. “Huh? What’s that noise?” “Oh… uh, yeah, sounds like it.” Looks like things are kicking off with those guys. I subtly guided Matsufusa-san away from the scene and told her I had something to do, so we parted ways. “See ya, little brother♪” “Oh, uh… yeah, see you.” That final smile she flashed me gave me the confidence that what I did wasn’t wrong. Still… no denying this whole incident gave me a lot to think about. I don’t love that I’ll remember it happened, but as someone involved, it’s a memory I’ll have to carry forever. ▽▼ “…So that’s little brother, huh? Just as kind as I thought.” After parting with Kai, Mafuyu walked alone, muttering to herself. And then she mumbled something else. “If a kid like that were my little brother… Huh? Brother?” Mafuyu stopped, tilting her head with an “Umm…” “Why did I think ‘if he were my brother’? I don’t even have a brother.” Somewhere, a certain artificial intelligence might’ve typed out, “ Oops, overdid it, my bad!” …Maybe.
girl chill out.
