Hey everyone I normally don’t write reviews and just read a lot like a lot a lot, but this novel really just didn’t sit well with me. Don’t get me wrong the premise of the novel is great who doesn’t love a “world turned into a game novel” with and op mc, but there were just 2 major things that I didn’t like. Up to ch 50 spoilers below… 1. The backstory of the MC, I’m currently caught up in the novel and just felt like the whole backstory of the MC is super forced we don’t get any info on him other than he is an orphan until one of the side characters mentions that he probably killed someone. It just doesn’t make sense how was there no inclination about this or anything and then he’s continuously being called a mastermind and such to fit his persona of “if it doesn’t bother me or isn’t useful I don’t care” mindset and it just didn’t fit. This is all opinion based and you may form a different opinion but that is what I felt. 2. The whole power scaling system is wayyyy off. First of all the gifts how are gifts such as the one Luke has which has an upper mortal giving him a 8x multiplier on damage with a weapon and easier access at learning arts comparable to Alice’s heaven cradle which 80% more effective with 40% cooldown and 50% mana cost with some mana regen and a skill that gives a 2 hour grade boost but only up to S rank. Like it just doesn’t fit how does an upper mortal grade skill do 8x damage while a haven grade only gives 80% boost. I get it mana is more useful than just a weapon, but not just that the items have crazy disparity as well. How does a D grade item give +5 to a stat, but the c grade gives +20-100 with having either a substat and another bonus like what?!? How does a 1 grade difference become 10x the stats. Also it really feels that the whole quest difficulty and rewards are just out of wack. Like for the save the village chief quest it gives you 25000 points 3 attribute points and a random earth blessing but the enemies you have to kill give 20000-50000 points each it just doesn’t make a lot of sense scaling wise especially when the difficulty said insane, but comparing it to the impossible quests it just seems off. Ty for reading my rant I can’t read the novel anymore because everything just wasn’t sitting write but other than that if you can look past everything I wrote it is a good novel with a cool premise just executed poorly.
Alice*?
Sunk cost fallacy
I thought she didn’t pick a job class because none of them fit her?
