So far I’m at ch 1200 and plan to finish the last 200 ch in the next few days. Overall I have enjoyed the story. I’ve laughed a number of times and find the overall progression of the story to move well. This is a laid back novel with the most handsome male doctor you’ve ever heard of no matter what your nationality at least according to every character in the novel. Mc is logical, has ocd, and socially inept. You could also say he chooses to ignore all social ques because his mother taught him that way. The system isn’t too prevalent, he gets missions from time to time and generally gets skills he either needs in the near future or hopes to get for the situation he is in. The interactions with the system can be pretty funny at times. I highly recommend reading. It’s a nice change of pace if you read a lot of system novels with fighting and other stuff and need a break from stories being too similar or whatever. Some may say it’s really repetitive he works and works gets a technique does those surgeries for a while gets another does those etc.
I have to ask author… is this one going to be as long as your other works? I’ve liked super gene and let me game in peace but both dragged on for ages at times.
I was very skeptical because this only had 10 reviews and all of them were very good. I’ve read 40 chapters of the story so far and here is an initial review. The story starts off quite slow. So far we have no idea how powerful the mc actually is because well he is a tree. Instead of really following the mc you follow the villagers lives for the action of the story. It is an interesting concept. Author can be a bit inconsistent at times. Like originally setting a precedent of every level takes 10 times more exp and his senses ability gets 10x stronger then later it only doubles. A weapon in one chap weighs 1000lb then in the next it weighs thousands of lbs. It gives off the air of being the first work of the author and they do a pretty good job. Unfortunately it doesn’t really have a hook for me. Nothing really keeping my attention. Author notes around 37 that story is about to pick up but for me it’s a bit too late. I think if rewards were obtained in a different way instead of just every level it might be better but that’s just me.
Once you get past the very racist early chapter the story is decent. And then ruined by author when he introduces the love interest. Typical Chinese belief of women being possessions etc. then all interactions every time they meet are garbage after that. I’ve read to 303 so far and the concept is somewhat interesting at first when it is fleshed out but later author only uses the earthlings strength. All divisions of abilities like learning stage and beginning stage etc are all thrown out the window. Even the fact that mc can use the earthlings abilities are thrown out the window. He only focuses on the abilities left behind by his mother. I will probably keep reading for a bit but mc is planning to be married soon and the whole relationship is ridiculous to me.
I only made it 16 ch I feel like auth is rushing story too much and it makes it hard to follow. By ch 16 I think he’s only been awakened for like 6 days maybe? Idk but he’s given his snake like 10 days worth of cultivation. Mc was given 150k from parents spent 50 and the other 100k disappeared who knows where. Goes into a dangerous area on his like 3rd day cultivating? Even if he gets into a dangerous situation he is confident he can run. Like bruh why? Also like the principle has all the elite class in assembly and calls out the mc as having broken thru as 1 of 3 people and yet during the tournament he’s a black horse maybe he will be top 5 like what? Just too much doesn’t make sense to me.
Ch 161 review Story started out pretty decent. I haven’t read many check in stories where mc has to go to different places so it was a pretty good concept to me. Biggest cons to me.. mc figures out rewards are based on the importance of a location. But the whole first part of the book he is in the most important place in the country he’s in and the rewards weren’t all that great…. Next. Mc is an idiot. Like by 161 he was hoodwinked into 4 CHILD brides then later decides to send them somewhere to be safe but then takes them into the dangerous place anyway. Author is also super into women being possessions of all evil males of the story. Like the world background is just that men grab women off the street to give them children and that’s it.. Some of the story is decent but overall I feel like dropping it bc author only wants to generate plot with mc saving the women he keeps being saddled with.
I thought this was a pretty good read. Op mc no harem limited extremely limited romance. With a decent golden finger as well. My only gripe is that halfway thru the story author changes the ability from working one time per day per person to one time per ability per person without any explanation. The only thing explained is that as the mc gets stronger the range of the ability gets farther. There were some minor loose ends left in the story that were never wrapped up and the ending felt a little rushed and anti climactic. One thing to note… if you do the audio for the story instead of reading you will be extremely annoyed with the system announcements. Author had to get some word count in….
As someone who likes op mc stories this one really his the mark. It kind of gives the vibe of those simulation stories as mc goes to different worlds and such. The power system is laid out but it isn’t extremely flushed out. Ending seemed kinda rushed but with this type of story it’s better to wrap it up before it’s just too repetitive.
I’m up to ch 441. Overall if you are looking for something laid back with not much going on this is the book for you. Mc is overly cautious and while he makes mistakes he does what he can to not make the same mistakes again. My gripes about the story is author will say the same thing 2-3 times back to back sometimes to pad the word count. It’s also said every time mc does research on side occupations that it’s okay because he has all the time in the world to learn anything he wants and practice anything he wants. All the while his cultivation speed is just as fast or faster than people around him… so really his immortality means nothing so far. That stuff aside I do enjoy the story.
Op was in his 20s before crossing over ya? And didn’t it say he was like 13 or 14 but considered an adult in this world? Why is he constantly remarking on the beauties, the cup sized etc of these children when he should be mentally a lot older than them?
