And this story is reality for him so there is no guarantee things will go as peacefully as in the kids show. In your B scenario, it's unknown what effect his presence could have. The butterfly effect could snowball towards either direction so it's best that he chooses a side and makes it the winning one rather than sit idle. I already finished this in Russian so I can tell you that the MC is not one to waste his life hiding and being mediocre. Aside from the harem and mediocre romance, it's a decent fic of you can stomach for Nation propaganda and justifications.

nah. the bana mighdalls aren't that strong to my knowledge. Artemis and grace choi are the only outliers. and if it was his amazonian heritage, the mother being a purer amazon would've survived

I understand they can be useful for cheap labor, but I'm not sure the show showed that they were really necessary or useful, especially the water tribes. the fire nation could have very well did what was done to the air monks and occupied their desolate lands for themselves
