Tbh, I quite like the racism. What I hate in Chinese stories is the baseless nationalism and superiority complex. Just started a fic recently and the first chapter included how the Japanese recognize the Chinese as a superior race and treat them with immeasurable respect. And any random old Chinese sword is a mythical artifact worth more than the other artifacts from the rest of the world.
