This doesn't make sense. If half the value of a silver coin can only get you a small loaf of bread, then the value of a silver coin should only get two small loads of bread. This isn't enough for a small family to live off of.

This story starts out great, lots of new ideas that I haven't seen before. however, around chapter 210, it becomes incredibly racist against Americans, constantly saying that Americans are calling chinnese people "Yellow Monkeys." They portray any other country but China in a bad light.
