I'd say give it a chance it does take a long time for him to get his brain back but in general that part of the plot is just a very small portion of the greater plot.

that still doesn't change if he goes outside... there could be greate demons that can walk in the sun that will attack him. With out any actual facts or information he is taking a risk, at least right now he knows what's in his home but as far as he knows the outside world could be completely different

I know it will, but if the novel wanted to be immersive and realistic then either the MC needs a brain or he needs to be taught

what if human knowledge doesn't translate into reality :(
