It doesn't seem like such a far stretch to just tell Durrak that he saw the claw earlier and that when he was researching the dragon tongue, he learned that the claws served as keys to draugr barrows. Isn't the amulet supposed to make him better at lying?
My problem is that nen as a power is almost entirely based on mindset and willpower. When I hear someone complain about talent with such a power system, I can only really see it as an excuse. To me, the reason why he is slower is his defeatist attitude combined with a mindset that leaves only inefficient and relatively ineffective abilities.
Shouldn't anyone weaponizing Emily be a huge trauma for him? He was literally forced to commit atrocities because Hydra literally gave her to him to be used as a weapon against him.
