Problem is, mc isn’t that smart either, and his skill is too op and will kill all the monsters before the girls have a chance to strike, if the writer wasn’t making him perfectly skilled in its use with what amounts to zero practice. Physically at least he could just grab hold of monsters and let the girls hit them

No. A level 40 could have his spell, and if maxed spirit could have 80 spirit, which is higher than the mc, but the mc has 68 spirit and his spells do double damage, which is equivalent to 136 spirit, so around a level 65-70 mage class with all bonus points in spirit. Though that can be changed cause class are earned at level ten or twenty and stat distribution supposedly changes then

Level 30 max spellcaster would be 31+ all 30 free points for 61 spirit, still less than his 68, plus he double powers it from his other talent, plus it’s a green spell that players can’t get till level 41. So he did far far more than a level 30 maxed spellcaster

That’s without the stat boost active. Just a green spell with 1 point of int or such
